A good netbook but may not have been the best use of money.

This netbook is quite nicer than other netbooks just because of the increased screen size and keyboards. The OS comes stock with WIndows Vista, but I installed Windows 7 on here instead. I can't really tell a performance difference in either OS but what I can say about either OS is that it is quite slow. There are plenty of USB ports, 3 to be exact, and I never seem to have a problem with my devices not fitting because any USB device that tends to be wider than normal, I just plug it into the one on the right side of the netbook. Now the computer packs a lot punch for a netbook and even looks like nicer than most. The only downside is the Operating System. Although I have a great solution! I installed jolicloud as my operating system (it as simple as a downloading it from their website and clicking install). It's basically a user-friendly version of linux that's based on the cloud, and it's apparently really popular with netbook users and I can see why. With jolicloud, this netbook is the netbook it was supposed to be. Fast, snappy, and filled with usable apps rather than a bloated operating system that can barely run the native Windows programs.

It's a great computer, but it's not for everyone!..

This computer is GREAT! But it's not exactly my cup of tea. First of all it works great for people on the go, who want a tiny computer to carry in one hand, and travels a lot and uses it for work ONLY. As for the rest of us....we're screwed! When I first got this computer I thought "Well this will be great to take to a friends or if  don't want to lug around a heavy laptop." I was right..for the most part. It worked very smoothly for a week or two, then I noticed the issues. Gamers, give it up, this computer will not meet any of your expectations on doing what a dell or HP can do. It's useless. The lag and and the amount of crashing you get from most games isn't worth it at all. If you want a small computer for on-the-go gaming....I know acer isn't it. On the OTHER hand the internet works great...as long as you don't plan downloading anything else...google chrome is a MUST for these computers...firefox lags. IE works about as good as a sloth on pot. NO JOKE. DON'T plan on getting anything extra...games...programs....lots of a files..or anything really. Disk Cleanup is a must at least twice a week. A added cleaner helps also. Make sure you have NO unwanted programs.  Make sure you also defragment your hard drive you can set it to do it automatically. This would also help tremendously. This computer, in general, if you only need a few programs for work, this is a great computer for you. If your into Internet, get google chrome for free and clean your computer up a lot. For gaming, god speed little buddies !

Acer Aspire One Netbook was built for speed and portability.

I absolutely love this computer! I take it with me EVERYWHERE! I can use it to get online nearly anywhere I go, and anyone can use a computer this simple. It was built for the speed and portability, and this little trooper can go through anything. I've dropped my netbook before and I thought it was done for, but I was so shocked and pleasantly surprised to see that it still turned on, and is still working better than ever. I use this netbook all the time, I've taken it to my friends' houses with me, and I can be on the other side of the house and still pick up their wireless signals. I can even get decent signal from my bedroom, which is on the opposite side of the house as the wireless router is. This laptop holds so much music and games, I love being able to play games online, browse the internet, download music, and everything all at one time. Downloading programs goes ten times faster than half of my friends' computers do! This computer is great for nearly anyone to use.

Acer Netbook (LU.S820Y.005) Good product for the price

This is my 1st ever laptop/netbook.  I am really impressed with the price and I'm not real sure just what to expect as far as the speed goes but I will say that this little computer is definitely worth the low price.  I really wasn't expecting too much for the price that I paid, but I was pleasantly surprised, there is one little glitch......occasionally it will just shut off.  I don't really mind this glitch as long as it's only once in a great while, which so far that's all that it's been.   I have had this netbook for about 3 months now and it has shut off while I'm in the middle of surfing about 3 or 4 times.  So as long as it's just a surfing and checking email computer than this one is worth the money, but if it's for work, then I would invest in a better quality computer.  I have a nice quality desktop that I work on and this netbook is my playing around secondary computer and it fulfills my needs perfectly.  Naturally, I like the portablility of it.

Netbook with the perfect screen size

5

I have had this for over 6 months and it amazes me how lightweight and portable with a great screen size this netbook is.  I would recommend for the person who wants small portable computer, this one has the right stuff inside and out.  And although I don't have windows 7 this one has worked fine with vista.  But now it should have 7 on it and that would make it that more of a plus.  The pricing is average.  It pays to look around and find the price that is right for you.
