Useful netbook

4

This netbook is sufficient for everyday tasks such as surfing the net, sending/reading emails, facebook, twitter, and working on Microsoft documents. The screen is 11.6 inches which is a little bigger than most other networks with 10.1 inches. With 2 gb of ram and a 250gb hard drive, it has meet all of my expectations. The battery lasts very long, almost ten hours. It has windows 7 64 bit installed. It has a couple of usb ports, 1 hdmi port , and a card reader. Not many netbooks have hdmi port and card reader built in. Thus, this is a big plus for me. It's small enough for me to carry it everywhere I go.

Wish this netbook was faster

I picked up this netbook with the external dvd player, mouse and case accessories from costco over 1.5 yrs ago for 450 bucks or so. I was excited initially coz it was super light weight. I had also looked at a lot of reviews online on netbooks and how the keyboard was very easy to use since the size was just ideal. I have installed windows 7 on it to try and make it faster. I do use it on a daily basis when I need a mobile laptop that I can just drop in my purse. It doesn't take a lot of space. The only con I find is that its slow even if I use an external SD card with ready boost specially to access the internet. A 1 GB internal RAM is just not fast enough. In retrospect I think I should have waited and got myself an ipad if I just needed something to access the internet and do some basic computations.

This Acer Netbook is amazing!!!

I just bought this Acer Aspire 12.1" netbook as a Christmas gift for myself, and let me tell you how I was not disappointed by it. I just love it! I bought this netbook, not because I needed to replace an old crappy, I already have a sony vaio and a great dell desktops; however, my 15'' vaio was beginning to get really heavy in my bag with all my books for school, so I decided to look for a netbook that would be really light but still has a great performance capacity. This Aspire One is really great for a netbook. It has a 250 GB of storage with a 1.7 Ghz AMD Athlon II Neo K125 Processor. And most importantly a 2GB of Memory that allows the presence of a complete Windows 7 Home Premium Edition that 95% of the netbooks don't have (they have Windows 7 Starter that is a lame excuse of a Windows 7 copy). Moreover, the Six-Cell Lithium-Ion battery has a fantastic 6hours long life which makes it with all the other great quality I mentioned earlier a very powerful little computer. So if your looking for a powerful computer that is still at an affordable price, don't look anywhere else, you just found a keeper!

Acer Aspire is a great value for the money

We have a full size laptop and the Acer is far easier to transport and carry. It is really light and actually fits in my large "Hobo" bag style purse. My shoulder was so tired hauling the other full size laptop around. This computer works well for coffee shops with internet and carrying around to work on on the go. I would travel with it any day. The only drawbacks are that there is no way to use a disc with them. We have to load it on the regular laptop and find a way to transfer. This limits the programs you can use. We cannot use the Rosetta Stone with the Acer because we cannot install it without a CD port. The other drawback is the keyboard. It is scrunched up weirdly and I always end up hitting the wrong keys when backspacing or using the space bar. All in all it is a great second computer for use on the road but not really great for at home use. The keyboard is akward. We do use it to watch movies online and that is great and works well.

Acer Aspire Review

My Daddy gave me this computer for Christmas, and I must say it has been just what I needed! I like the compact size, because I just stick it in my purse and use it on the go! I am not a computer expert, but for what I need this for (school work, research, email and Facebook!) the Acer Aspire completely meets my standards! The few negatives are completely outweighed by the positives, but nevertheless, the cons are still very much worth mentioning. Because this is so small, there is no disk drive...you need to have one externally. This means that without added equipment, I can't use CD-Rom programs, or watch DVDs. There's also no video editing software.  Besides that, the cons are very minimal, such as that I cannot personalize my username homescreen...it stays the same with the blue Acer logo. I wish I could change that and have cute pictures or something on there, but it's not a terribly big deal. I like the way this computer runs, and it's pretty cute. So overall, a pretty good product with a few downsides.

Acer Aspire One: An Outstanding Piece of Equipment.

The Acer Aspire One is one of the better Netbooks on the market. With 160 GB of storage, a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom Processor, 1 GB of RAM, and a Six-Cell Lithium-Ion battery, it is a powerful little computer. The battery life is fantastic, with a charge lasting around 6 hours. Also, considering it is only 3 pounds, it is excellent for working on the go. The Aspire One also includes a full keyboard and a built in Webcam "Optimized for low-light video chatting." The lack of a disc drive is disheartening, but is to be expected with a computer this size. Luckily, it does come equipped with three USB 2.0 ports to connect any external device you wish. Along with USB, it also has ports for a Serial Cable, an SD Card and an Ethernet cable. The function key on the keyboard allows access to Bluetooth, WiFi, screen brightness, volume, and a number pad. Quite a few helpful shortcuts for those seeking them. If one is searching for a lightweight, powerful, and well priced computer for on the go or even general use, this is the Netbook for you.
