I got this laptop last fall for my dad as he was in need of some good lappy which can do some programming as well as high end gamming. I am really surprized with the way things going on for my dad on this wonder. This laptop is not that bulky as I was expecting. This piece has some excellent high end features at a very comparitive cost. I was in need of searching a laptop which has a good processor with sufficient clock speed. I was also looking for a system which has RAM greater or equal to 4GB. My father also wanted a laptop with HDMI slot as he always likes connecting it to other electronics like TV or others. This laptop is well designed. One thing I don't like is that it heats up very quickly. The GUI is nice to look at . 15.6" is not bad at all. I3 is really a nice configuration when there is not great amount of programming involved. I would really recommand if you are looking for decent configuration at some nice price.

I really enjoy using my Acer Notebook. It has a wonderful Windows Media Player. It also has a webcam. The webcam can take pictures and can be used to video chat on Windows Live Messenger. I have found that the touchpad is also easy to use. It easily moves the pointer but it isn't too sensitive. If it hasn't been used for a while, the log on process can take a little longer than desired. Also, if the internet is loading or the computer hasn't been used for a while, the music can sound choppy until the system has completely loaded or warmed up. One other thing that I am not too fond of is that when the battery is not charging or it is not plugged in, the screen gets dimmer than if it were plugged in. Despite the few flaws this product has, I am happy with my Acer Notebook. It is very dependable to me and very helpful. The small size is also very convient because it is easier to carry the computer along with you.

***as you know i am reviewing the acer aspire one laptop first let me say it is fast with* *networks and the internet , this laptop has 1 gb of memory ,160 gb storage , 3-cell li-ion battery , and a intel atom processer and is wi-fi certifed so this laptop is great i say anyway i would encourage you people out there in the world and furture to go buy one of these laptops like i said there great. there is nothing i dont like about these laptops, it is also led lcd light on the screen , ultra thin, and multi-gestured. i guess the most thing i like about this laptop is it can connect to any network and is very light and easy to pack if your going somewhere or, have somewhere to be, or whatever**, however there is one thing i dont like and that is or would be the clock at the bottom right hand corner i keep chaning it to the right time for where i live and it keeps going to the wrong time by it's self, so thats the only thing i dislike like about this laptop , but other than that it's perfect. now that i have review this i hope you will go somewhere doesn't* *matter where but i hope you will buy you a acer aspire laptop. the end***

I have to say that I am super impressed with my Acer Aspire Notebook!  Especially the PORTABILITY!  I have many options available, (desktops, laptops, and notebooks), and numerous smart phones, however, I have to say that I am on my Acer more than anything.  It's the perfect size to through into my bag, -honestly, I toss it around quite a bite, and have had it for over a year, -NO PROBLEMS!  I have purchased the portable CD drive and do hook up to an external monitor/keyboard/mouse/etc when I am at my desk at home.  There is nothing that I haven't been able to do on it that I can do on my full-sized laptop or desktop.   Good price, good Notebook, -I bought them for my kids, -(not gamers though), -highly recommend.

When our laptop got dropped and ruined, we had to replace it... we didn't have a fortune to spend on a replacement and so we found this laptop. It has worked well, I will say, but it gets slowed down VERY easily. We probably have too much data stored on it, but it certainly happened fast. Also, the fan on the laptop is breaking and so the laptop gets extremely hot on the bottom. We are careful not to cover the area where it vents, but that really hasn't alleviated the problem. It also makes an awful grinding noise. For the price, if you need a replacement, I might recommend this, but if you have the money to spend, I would invest in a more useful laptop - higher quality with more memory. This one leaves a lot to be desired. On the positive side, the screen is relatively large and clear - it does okay afor watching television online, but your standards have to be pretty low to medium :) Overall, decent laptop for the price but if you work on the computer, I wouldn't go with this one.

This computer is great! It can handle the heavy load of gaming while staying cool. The 500GB hard drive is great for all my programs, games, and documents. With the 4Gb of RAM i can have all of my applications open at the same time and not have to worry about them running slowly. The i3 can handle a heavy load and not over heat. The 15.6 inch screen is great for gaming. The integrated webcam and microphone are great for video chatting with friends that live great distances away. It is also very lightweight and slim making it very portable. The sound system is not very good though. It only has one speaker and its not that loud or of good quality. The keyboard layout is very nice because of the number keypad. The multi-finger smartpad is awesome in web-browsing and other stuff. The windows 7 operating system that it comes with is awesome and can run .exe files right out of the box unlike another operating system that rhymes with back.

I have always loved Acer brand laptops so when it came to buying a new laptop for the household I didnt look much farther than Acer and like in the past I am not dissappointed at all. I use the Acer Aspire 5742-7120 mostly for work, I am on it at least 30 hours a week. I am required to have multiple pages oped at once, so I needed a laptop that would not slow down. The intel core i3 is wonderful, the laptop never slows down. the keyboard is slick and great looking, the buttons are easy and gentle to use, meaning that I do not have to jab and put pressure on the buttons. I like the cap lock button ( it shows a open lock on the screen when cap lock is off and the oppisite when it's on) the webcam is great and bright making skype fun and easy to use, the volume is loud and clear. downloading is fast and simple. the screen is really bright and clear and I love that battery life is so long. it is really lightwieght too......I'm loving it!!!!

Some people would say that an acer laptop is no good. I seem to disagree with them. I am a first time acer laptop buyer and the product has worked very well for me. My opinion is in order to have a good computer you need to watch what websites that you go on. Alot of websites can automatically download something onto your computer without you even knowing it. That is what has happened to alot of my computers in the past. Also, to keep a spyware blocker on you computer. Spywares are the most popular to be downloaded on the computer. The Acer has worked exceptionally well for this year. It's fast, dependable, and sufficient. I love this thing. I will continue to refer this type of computer to everyone i know. Especially if they are one to dislike them. Can't beat an acer. Good harware. Good battery hold. And you have the camera, sound. We hook our computer up to the flat screen and watch netflix online. Absolutely love it. I recommend to everyone.

The laptop is really good. All updates come to an timley manner. The screen is clear, and is easy to work with to fit your preference. The keyboard is bigger, allowing an easier time to type. Downfall is though, the laptop freezes and "sputters" when plugging in a device or charger or unplugging a device or charger from it.

Acer Laptops have always been top on my list they last longer than other laptops and come with great programs, they are also very cheap... so it wont hurt your pocket book... most of them come with web cams witch is very convientent for us sense we travel quite a bit. The only downfall i have encountered were the battery life isnt as long as other laptops. I am no expert on computers but when it comes to quality i pretty much know what the safe bets are i like speed and agility NO freezing when it comes to acer.
