I BOUGHT THIS COMPUTER AND WITHIN 1 YEAR THE SCREEN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, I HAD TO BUY ANOTHER BATTERY CHARGER, THE HARD DRIVE CRASHED AND ONCE I HAD ALL THE NECESSARY REPAIRS DONE THE CHARGER PORT ON THE SIDE OF THE COMPUTER GAVE OUT. THE LID IS NOT STURDY EITHER......HANDS UP (DEFEATED) THUMBS DOWN THIS IS THE WORST LAPTOP I HAVE EVER HAD. OH YEAH AND NONE OF THE MISHAPS WERE DUE TO MISHANDLING OR NEGLIGANCE. ACER SAID IT THEMSELVES....MAYBE I SHOULD HAVE BOUT ON THAT COST MORE BUT I HAVE A LAPTOP NOW DIFFERENT BRAND SAME PRICE WHICH IS MAKING ACER LOOK LIKE A WINDOWS 98 DESKTOP FLUNKIE.......CARRY ON ACER NO MORE MONEY FROM THIS PC USER!

This computer is better than I expected it to be. I was used to another brand but I could not afford a computer made by that brand at the time. I decided to take the risk, since I needed a notebook/ laptop inmediately for personal and professional reasons. Acer Aspire became the solution I needed and more. It is not too heavy, it is easy to use and the best part is that it fitted my budget. I use it for internet access, as well as to use the office programs I have installed. The wireless access is mostly very good and you get signal almost anywhere (there has to be a network close enough, of course). The only thing I can complain about is that the Windows Media Player does not have sound at all, but at the same time, the "local" program called Acer Arcade Deluxe is great to watch movies on dvd, store pictures and videos, and has other features such as Home Video and music too. Security included is pretty good too, but it is always necessary to get and anti virus as well.
