This laptop is perfect for any student who does not have the funds to purchase an expensive computer. It works very well and to me it is like or even better than an hp. This brand is not very well known but it does its job well and it is light weight despite its size. I am gratefull to have bought such a great computer. Before purchasing this laptop I spoke to someone who knows his way around computers and recommended me to purcahse this. So far I have owned this laptop for six months. I have had minor difficulties with it such as a blue screen appearing when I want to watch videos. I recommend this laptop just for school as for using it for personal entertainment you should purchase another laptop. updated review: Now its a year later and I still love this laptop. I use it everyday for long periods of time. I recently started struggling with my laptop overheating but finally fixed my solution. I never usually turned of my computer....just left it on all the time basically and I'm surprised my laptop has lasted me this long. My solution was basically turning off my computer when it wasn't in use :D. I can watch videos well...the only issue is that now my laptop is acting a little slow now but its no biggie, I usually repurchase laptops every two years. That"s why I recommend to get low priced laptops...a friend of mine who really knows his stuff about computers helps me with all the questions I have about this kind of stuff. I definitely plan on repurchasing this same model...I absolutely love it :D.

After our HP laptop bit the dust, we were forced to purchase another laptop to get us through while it was being repaired. Not wanting to drop tons of money on a secondary laptop, I chose the Acer Aspire mainly because of the price, but also because for the money it had a decent processor (albeit a single core), as well as enough memory and RAM to suit our needs. So far I am really pleased with its performance. The screen provides crisp, clear images. The keyboard has a full number pad on the right like full keyboards do (even my other much more expensive laptop does not have that). The keys are a little spaced out so warning to others - do not eat at the computer, or you will have quite a collection of crumbs in your keyboard. It comes with a 60 day trial of Microsoft Office home edition, which is a nice addition (although it only allows you to access the programs 24 times before requiring a product key, so depending on how often you would use them, it might not last you a full 60 days). It lacks a light showing that the caps lock button is on, but every time you hit the button an icon appears in the middle of the screen showing whether it is on or not. All in all, a great product, and I am very satisfied!
