I consider myself an above-average cook, but I. DO. NOT. BAKE. I don't do cookies, cakes, breads, etc. Still, I've found myself hooked on watching The Food Network lately, and I've recently discovered Ace of Cakes.
The "Ace of Cakes" is Duff Goldman and he owns Charm City Cakes in Baltimore, MD. Ace of Cakes is quite possibly one of the best combinations of reality t.v. I have ever seen. You could say it was a mix of reality t.v., the Martha Stewart Show, and food network challenge. In essence beautiful cakes with a spark... literally. Chef Duff and his fellow cake makers are hilarious to watch. They are witty, fun loving, and kinda cooky. The show revolves around the completion of cake orders that are anything but ordinary. Ace of Cakes is a great show! They are so creative and good at what they do! I only wish I was half as talented as some of the bakers and decorators on the show! After watching it I always want to go straight to the kitchen and try to make some fantastic cake, knowing it won't be quite the cake they would make! They all seem to have such a good friendship and really get along! They are a great team!
Duff & the crew never cease to amaze me w/the cakes they make every week. They are talented. I wish I had the gift to decorate cakes like they do. My favorite of all time was the library cart. It was simply amazing!
