I unexpectedly threw my back out this past weekend (well, really, who expects to throw out their back). I was able to ice it immediately using those hard rectangular plastic ice packs designed to keep your child's lunch cold. Not exactly to most comfortable thing, but still it was effective.
After two days of icing I knew I had to move on to heat therapy but could not find my ol' heating pad. I was thrilled to find this product at my local drug store - it's reusable, heated up in 30 seconds in my microwave, and was comfortable to lay against with it's soft gel center and Ace bandange-fabric pouch. I am going to buy another one to keep in my freezer so I don't have to sleep on an ice brick again.
