Avoid any "acai berry cleanse" product PERIOD! I had been getting all these e-mails about how Oprah endorsed this product, so I thought, hey - why not pay the $3.95 shipping fee to get my FREE 14 day trial? I should have read the fine print first, because I would have never ordered this product!!
Yes, it is true that the shiiping is $3.95 (plus and additional possible fee from your credit card for internantional billing?! I didn't know about this one!). It is now day 13 after I bought this stuff and it still had not come, so I went searching for the phone number on the internet. Upon finding the phone number (801-208-7485) I also dicovered that 14 days after the order date, you will automatically be billed an additional $90!!!! I called right then and cancelled everything and told them that I better not see another billing on my card...or else!! hehehe!
Here is EXACTLY what the website states (BEWARE!!!!):
CAREFULLY READ AND AGREE TO PURCHASE TERMS BELOW BEFORE ORDERING:
I understand that by ordering Extreme Acai Berry, I am agreeing to receive Extreme Acai Berry for a free 14-day trial period (days of availability for actual usage could be less depending on shipping time) beginning on date of order. $3.95 (non-refundable) for S&P. I understand that unless I cancel by calling 1-801-208-7490 within this 14-day period, beginning on the 14th day my credit card will automatically be charged $89.31 (Free Shipping) for a 31 day supply of Extreme Acai Berry to be shipped at that time to my door.
Thereafter, until and unless I cancel, my credit card will automatically be charged an additional $89.31 every 31 days for a new supply of Extreme Acai Berry. I understand that I may cancel any future shipments Monday through Friday by calling 1-801-208-7490. Our hours of operation are from 8am to 5pm MST.
We do not accept returns on any products that have been shipped.

I ordered the free trial from Trading Planet in West Lothian, Scotland and they arrived in Central Europe within 4 days via air mail. A few days ago my bank telephoned me to ask if I had authorized the shipping payments that they took from my account. They then told me to monitor my account as Acai Berry companies had a reputation for taking money from a persons account without permission. I decided there and then to cancel my card so that this could not happen.
I HAD read the terms and conditions and was aware that if I didn't telephone in 14 days to cancel, they could send more supplies and charge me. I had already decided that I just wanted the free trial and try to get them cheaper elsewhere if I liked them as $80+ seemed a little excessive.
After canceling my card I phoned Scotland and spoke to a very helpful and polite English gentleman who canceled my order and gave me the cancellation numbers and assured me that I would not receive anything more from them. No problems. They can't charge for anything now with the card canceled. Do please read the small print and terms & conditions when ordering anything on the net or elsewhere. It's very important.

I also got ripped off! I never received the "free trial" that cost me $0.99 plus an international charge of $0.01, and then 15 days later my account was charged $87.13. I called and told them I didn't get the product and wanted all charges cancelled. I was then told that it would be but a few days later my account was charged again!! I am now in the process of reporting it as fraud with my bank... and canceling my card! I should have been smarter, but the website acaiberrydetox.com did not have any of the fine print mentioned by some of you, and it was "recommended" by Oprah... Expensive lesson learned.

That is excatly what happened to me and to add insult to injury the person I spoke to was not helpfull at all in fact he was rude and hang up on me. I think we all need to be more careful of these sites and read the fine prints. It is all a scam, if I had read the fine prints I'm sure I wouldn't have ordered the product. Now my account is overdrawn, I had to pay a bunch of fees to the bank and will have to close the account to make sure they don't charge me again......It is not worth it.

Eastwood,
I myself did the same thing, only with me, there was no fine print or terms and conditions. These did not pop up until they sent my confirmation email. It was not on the website that I ordered from anywhere. By the time I had opened up my email - 10 min. later, the company had already placed a "hold" on the $87.13 and it took a week to have it removed and I had to get another card because of more charges on my account. Fortunately for me, I had printed up everything to prove that there were no "terms and conditions". So, maybe, before you go jumping anyone or being ugly, you should find out the whole story. You must work for this company for you to get so defensive.

I, too, ordered the Extreme Acai product you mentioned. I DID read the fine print, and mine says that, in addition to canceling within 14 days OR ELSE GET CHARGED, you also have to send back the unused portion. I sat here and figured out 14 days from the day I ORDERED IT, and only received it 2 days prior to that! I'm not even going to be able to get a week's worth of use of this product before I have to return it!

I did my research on the acai berry and the colon cleanse thing. I figured I wouldnt loose anything but I knew that if it was being sold online as a pure form I could easily get it simply by going to my local Health Store. In my area, it's Haars, in south jersey...store has been around for ever and its a natural food store also. Anyhoo, I bought the acai concentrate in pill form that is a liquid capsule (take 2 in morning and 2 at night) and I asked the lady about their best colon cleanse pills (1 in the morning and 1 at night). I bought whole shabang for $28 and some change for a months supply. I spend that easy going out to eat dinner one night so I thought it was a good investment to try. I started it yesterday. It can't hurt - anything that full of anti oxidants can always be a benefit...and if the colon cleanse thing works then good, pipes could always use a cleaning LOL

Excellent information. I am a public health nurse, and work with the elderly; so many of them are scammed financially (they trust people and don't read the fine print). If anything sounds too good to be true, run (don't walk) the other way. Find these products at your local health food store or pharmacy.

Same here, problem is, it is shipped from China, I received it on the same day that I got billed $85 US then I emailed them saying I didn't want it and to cancel my order. I got another charge taken out of my credit card, I talked to the people of my credit card, they said they will reimburse me the second charge but it will take months. They also said I had to manage to get a cancellation number from the sellers because they will not stop charging me!!! I have sent several messages by now, all without response!!!

This "NUTRALANE VITAMINS owned by GNS company is a total SCAM and fraud you can find out just by scanning the internet with the link on google. There is know such thing as a free trial. Here is there deceptive advertising, after you pay for the shipping you are had, as soon as you get it it says they will bill you $$79.90 in small small print at the bottom of the invoice. You do not have enough time to try or send back because they have already billed you and if you call and complain it will do you no good. I got a RMA number and sent it back because I was not going to pay 80 bucks. I sent it back and I called and was still billed and they said there was nothing they could do.

I put in all my info and right before I put in my credit card I decided to look it up. I entered "is 'Kim's Diet Plan' legit' into google and out of the billions or however many sites usually pop up, this is the one and only that came up, and thank goodness it did. You just saved me a whole lot of money and credit card hassle. Thanks again.

How can Oprah and Dr. Oz allow their names to be associated with this disgraceful ripoff?

After reading these reviews, I went to my local health food store and bought acai berry extract pills. For $16 I got a 30 day supply. I have now been using them for 3 months and with diet and excerise I have lost 25 pounds. The best thing is that I feel all around healthier. Dont let greedy companies turn you off to this type of product. Harvest Market, GNC and I believe Walmart all sell similar products that work just as fine if not better.

I had the same thing happen to me. I knew that they were going to charge me the additional money if I didn't call and cancel, but they never even sent the product. I ordered it in January and it is March 31st! I have talked to them twice and they said they would resend it, but still nothing! My bank is going to take care of contacting them and getting the charges off my account.
I think it just depends on what website you come across selling it. I am sure there are companies who actually do send the product, but I think I just came across the wrong site. The company name that showed up on my bank account was Lipaphen. It's really crappy people have to do things like this just to make an easy buck.
W0nder wrote on Mar 30, 2009 at 2:07PM
I read about the product in "Cassidy's Diet Blog." She claimed that it helped her lose about 25 pounds in 1 month. I was just about to order the product as well as the other cleanser, until I stumbled onto this website and decided not to. No one likes to be scammed or anything; especially the way the economy has been lately. Everyone makes mistakes. We just need to learn from them. Next time, make sure to read every detail about ordering products. Luckily, you can just walk up to any GNC store or just order similar products without feeling like you're being scammed. I'm pretty sure anyone can find these products in other stores as well. Kookyteacher mentioned that she bought a similar product for $8 at Walmart. I guess we all need to do our research. Good luck to all!

THIS IS HOW I HOPEFULLY TOOK CARE OF THIS::: I got caught up in the Acai Berry - Colon Cleanse scam as well. I had three $83.00 charges on my credit card before I realized what was happening. The following is what I did and so far it is has been successful. I started with contacting the Better Business Bureau in Florida for FWM Laboratories. Then I contacted my credit card company and submitted fraud alerts for the three charges. I also had my credit card company issue me a new number (as if I had lost my credit card) I then called the numbers listed on my credit card statement for each company (2 charges were same company and one charge was the other company) and was able to get through to a person on each of the two numbers and received a cancellation number on the one (from a very foreign sounding person) and was told I would receive an email confirmation on the other one. Never received it - ended up calling back and getting an email address. I emailed the company to confirm my cancellation and to get a return address to return the product. After getting a lecture by email on how I had agreed to the auto delivery program they told me they would reimburse me half of the 80 something charge and I could keep the product. (Yeah like I would ever take any of those pills now!!!). To date, my credit card company had deducted the three charges. However, I am still going to check my credit card online daily just in case. That's how I did it. I covered as many bases as I could. Good luck to all. FYI - The two numbers I called ((Acaiberry&lifecleans 866-949-0138)) and ((Ids*max Colon 866-8707042 Ca))

A sure scam and Oprah and Dr Oz should also be held responsible for lending their names to these products and the companies behind them

I was charged $79.95 but called my bank and filed a fraudulent charge report through my bank and had them replace my card so no additional charges could be made.
I called the company first to resolve the issue and was told by the rep (John Minton supposedly) that there was nothing he could do. I asked him to verify that he was at the corporate location. He said it was the only he was aware of. I asked for his supervisor's name to which he replied "Michelle." I asked for a last name and he said he didn't know it. Then he gave me a different name (Katherine Hepalah) as being on his list as a contact. I asked for his customer service employee number and, of course, he didn't have one. I asked if there was someone else I could speak to and he said he was the only one there and no one else would be there for another 20 minutes. Ding ding ding ding ding!! I agree with MommaHunt and DrHonestAbe... nothing is free and weight loss only comes with work. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read the fine print on any product you buy, especially those promising results which we all know can't possibly be true!!!

There are definitely several scam artists out there. I almost ordered same product until reading fine print. A couple of simple rules to keep in mind when ordering anything online are (1) the fine print (by law I think) is always on the same page that you have to enter your credit card number so look for the fine print and READ IT ALL. Scammers will sometimes hide the hidden fees in the fine print knowing that most consumers are too lazy to read it all and (2) if a product is sooooooo good, there should be some place locally that the product can be purchased. I ended up purchasing a total body cleanser and a large bottle of organic acai berry drink at the local GNC. Lastly, don't ever think that you will lose 25 pounds safely in less than a week. The keys to losing weight are 1. Diet, 2. Exercise, and 3. proper rest. Acai Berry or any other miracle or supplement assist in the process. You never get something for nothing and you don't lose weight without putting in the work and time.

www.fit-fac.com 866-4071022 NV $19.95
www.fit-fac.com 866-4071022 NV $149.85
www.fit-fac.com 866-4071022 NV $15.95
You can do the math.....all these transactions happened within 2 days and I am devastated. Not just that it has happened to me, but that I allowed myself to be scammed. The viewer who stated this needs to be followed up by 20/20 or dateline is so correct. I also believe Oprah should go out on a limb and acknowledge, on her show, that these scams are out there and to be very aware. I had the same problem. I called and cancelled well within the 14 day trial period because I put it down on my calendar so I would remember to do it. I also received another shipment and called to tell them I had cancelled. They man I talked to said there was nothing on my account that said I had called and cancelled. I had spoken with a man but did not get his name when I cancelled it. I got a little upset at the man and told them they were running a scam and that I better not get another bill from them. We called the credit card company and told them about it and they are not paying them the amount we were billed and I told them that. I have not heard another thing from them but it's a little scary that they have all these credit card numbers. Everybody needs to watch their credit card statements every month. The credit card company said these guys were "good" at what they do.....scamming people. Makes me wonder what is even in the pills. If these people are no good....then I"m sure the pills are no better. Someone should take them to a lab to see what exactly is in them. Why can't these people be stopped ???? We need to get dateline or 20/20 in on their scam.

I think you may have been scammed by a company claiming to be the real AcaiBerry producers. What Oprah promoted was AcaiBurn, not Acai Cleanse, not Acai Supreme or any of those other bogus products. i work for a bank in the fraud dept where we hear the complaints every day, but they are all from knock off brand company's that sell imitation acai berry products. They do not get you the results and you will not be happy. I NEVER buy online, but decided to see what happens with this. I love it and it works but remember you get what you pay for.

I too had the $89.31 taken from my account. My story is the same as everyone else. I ordered the trial offer and suddenly had $30. taken from my account. I called and to my surprise the money was replaced into my bank account. Then came the second shoe--$89.31 taken. I called my bank and was told to call the company in question. I began calling on November 20th. Today is January 13th, and I am still out $89.31. I have been told 5 times that my refund is on the way. LIES! Yesterday I called the toll free (ironic) number 877-859-0952. After being on hold for 10 minutes, a recording came on saying the lines were busy and to call later---click. Today the line rings busy. All of the networks and celebrities who touted this product should demand refunds.

I got the free trials also. The total cleanse was easy to cancel, I called the number on the invoice and spoke to a very nice lady who cancelled everything for me. But then I tried to contact the Acai Supreme people. Every number was impossible. I gave up and just went to my bank. I explained the situation to my bank (over the phone) and told them that it was a scam and that every number I tried didn't work and that there was no way I could cancel the pills and it was impossible. The funny thing is that the lady from my bank that I talked to over the phone said that the same thing happened to her! Anyway, my bank refunded all of my charges and cancelled me debit card and got me a new one. I have two free bottles of pills though. I started taking them today and maybe they will work.

I ordered the acai berry and cleansing products and paid shippin and handling. I got a call a couple of days later from a rep trying to sell me something and when I responded that I had only ordered the free samples and nothing else, he let it slip that I will be billed after a couple of weeks. I did recieve the products and have not really seen the effect of the acai berry. I have to thank the sales rep cos I went online and found out about the scam. I immediately canceled my credit card.

I had a similar thing happen. Luckily I read some of these posts right after I signed up. I ordered the free trial and never got it. It was going on 2 1/2 weeks and I had not heard anything! So I called and after about 4 attempts on the phone I was finally able to talk with someone and they said that my order had never been verified ??? So I verified it and waited. Nothing came so I called again and after more attempts I was able to talk with someone again they told me the same thing so I said just forget it!! I have waited 3 weeks and not gotten anything! So I canceled and she said that I wouldn't be charge for s/h since it was never shipped, so we'll see.......sigh so much for finding a healthy weight loss supplement.......

These customer service reps need to know how to speak English, first and foremost. I was irate when the lady told me that it was too late to refund my $90 back because they had already shipped the bottle out. I started out with the 14-day "trial" bottle and paid $1.95 for s/h...and I guess it's "automatic" that they send out the 30-day supply and charge your account $90. What's even more upsetting is that the lady hung up on me and told me my account will not be cancelled. I know, right? Here I am, ****** as hell, and the so-called "top agent" hangs up on me and tells me my account will not be cancelled. Oh man! This whole thing is a scam. They're out there to just take people's money. The lady would not tell me who the president of this company was either. I asked to talk to someone higher than her level and she claimed that she was the "top agent". She basically told me that it was too bad and that it was my fault for not calling BEFORE the 14 day trial ended. What a ****! After she hung up on me, I called back and talk to a man this time. He told me she already cancelled my account. Man, this company/the reps are f'ed up. Seriously. This is ridiculous!

I got caught in this scam..there are several compaies that have the same name but different purchase terms. I received another bottle yesteray and my credit card was billed November 24, 200 and I just received an order yesterday a month after they had already billed me. I think this company is a scam and the product is worthless. I called them and told them I would send the product back to credit my credit card but they would not hear of it. SO PLEASE READ THAT small print BEFORE YOU PURCHASE THIS COMPANIES PRODUCT.

I just talked to "Matt" from Central Coastal, Acaipure, what garbage. I told him I cancelled on Nov 22. And since that time, I have a charge for Dec 3, and a new one on Dec 16 (of course I had re-re-cancelled on Dec 3!). He just kept repeating his mantra of "you did't read the info" no matter what I said. He said I needed to remove the bottle from the package and remail it. I told him I do not need to pay to retun Items I did not order. He still repeated his mantra about not reading the disclaimer! I questioned him that now I'm suppose to get this S---- every 13 days! Oops, I said a naughty word. Hang up time. At this time I will be filing an action with the postal inspectors and will probably have to cancel my bank card to file fraud charges.

The same thing happened to me - but I ordered from a different website. It said just pay $1.00 shipping for a free trial. I thought I would at least try it and if it didn't work, "what the hell, it was only one dollar." After it took at least 10 days if not 2 weeks to arrive in the mail, I received the sample (only 14 tablets - take 2, twice a day, which lasts a mere 3 1/2 days). How the hell can you tell if something actually works in that short amount of time??? Anyway, a couple days later I got charged $89 and change on my checking account, except it wasn't under Acai Berry like the first offer... it was under "Diet Offer." I recently saw the charge & had no idea what the hell it was for, so I called my bank to straighten it out and had to go through this whole thing to find out that it came from the same company... etc. Thankfully I am in the process of taking care of it (& my bank temporarily refunded the $$ until it gets straightened out). Finally, what came in the mail today? A full bottle of the Acai Berry pills... yeah 2 weeks after they charged me for it! Those bastards! I'm never going to act so foolishly to some supposed "great offer" again. I just want anyone who's reading this to know that if something sounds too good to be true, that's because it is.
HomeSickMomma wrote on Dec 8, 2008 at 10:35AM
I have even more to add to that story. I had noticed the forthcoming charge 'by day 14' part of the equation, therefore I put a reminder on my computer to call and cancel before that. When I called (the company)they did not even identifythemselves, after having been on hold for 15 minutes or more (I had to ask: to whom am I speaking and what company do you work for?). Well, I cancelled my account, still not having received the "free" acai berry trial which had been promised the week prior. It finally came in another week, I tried it and I liked it, but not for $90 per month! Now the following month my bank account was charged $8.51 for PriceLimbo.com service (?????) so I called the 877 number that was right there with the charge on my account and asked about this. They verified that yes, I had cancelled my account 1 month prior; no answer whatsoever given for why my account was again charged......I asked this: "if I cancelled the account last month why in the world would I have a charge for something else now--not having any knowledge of the origin of the charge?". The customer rep did not even answer.....and they set up their phone lines with terrible connection just so you get aggravated and annoyed and they pretend they cannot hear what you are saying!!!!! Acai Berry may be a great product, but the selling of it in this way is downright creepy. I can only be thankful that they actually refund your money when you ask them to.......better always keep an eye on your accounts, folks.

I think the $29.95 charge may be for "Fit Factory" which I was automatically "registered for" when I ordered my free trial of Acai.... I have cancelled the fit factory at # 1-866-407-1022 from Canada, and they also said they do not deal directly with Acai Berry to cancel with them. I had to call 1-801-208-7485 to cancel Extreme Acai Berry from ever coming or being charged $89. I hope it worked for both, I also got Conf. #'s from both people.
OttawaAcai wrote on Nov 24, 2008 at 6:05PM
Thank you for all the comments. This was the first time I have ever bought anything online!! I just received my "trial" in the mail today and had looked up the product to see reviews to check into it.... I had been expecting the Acai Berry Power 500, as that is what I thought I was ordering a trial of... this tipped me off to look up what I actually received, and I found all of these scary reviews!! I live in Canada and received my order 9 days after ordering...I called a few of the numbers listed today to cancel all future orders, as I don't want anything to do with this "product". The number listed on the bottle I got is 1-877-350-8480 -I got put on hold right away, but did not wait long and hung up, as I wanted to try other numbers listed on these reviews as well. I got through at 1-866-407-1022 and did not wait long. The girl took my name and confirmed my address and when I said I wanted to cancel Extreme Acai Berry, she said they did not deal with them and that they manage "Fit Factory" I think a website? which apparently was part of the conditions that I did not know about and I was automatically signed up for that. So, I cancelled Fit Factory with her and she gave me the number for Acai Berry as 1-801-208-7490 WHICH IS NOT IN SERVICE! I then called 1-801-208-7485 It DOES WORK, and I was only on hold for 2 mins, then proceeded to cancel my order. I confirmed with him that I was indeed cancelling for the product Extreme Acai Berry and I got a conf. # I will also be calling my credit card to alert them/block any charges from any of the affiliated products listed on the small paper that I received in my package. Don't even know if this product works, I think I will look for help from a real person at GNC and buy something FACE-TO-FACE next time! You never can be too sure I know that now.... I hope everything is actually cancelled. Is there another "product" that I should be calling to cancel that I may not know about?

Thank you so much for writing this. I too got duped. They charged my card on the same day for the trial and the regular bottle. This was more than 16 days after I ordered it. Then after I disputed the charges, magically the trial bottle arrives. I called the number on the bottle and yelled and screamed. They said they would refund my money as long as I did a return to sender on the regular bottle. We will see what happens now.

They would not refund my money until i sent pills back which i told them i couldnt cause had nothing. They were foreign and nasty rude and pretty much told me i was stupid caus ei didnt read terms and conditions so its my fault. I stayed on phone for 20 min argueing and they did nothing and finally hungup on me. I was soooo annoyed. I filled a dispute from bank hoping to get my money back.

If you need to cancel Total Cleanse, calling them will not get it done, the phone number is fake. What you can do is go to this link sflnutrition.com and get on a live chat and cancel your order/tail. Make sure you check your e-mail for confirmation before you exit the chat, and make sure you e-mail the chat to your self before you hit close. If you got charged see if they will credit you the fees, I found the link before my 14 days were over, so i have no experience with them crediting fees back. Good luck and I hope this helps.

I am so glad I found this site. My VIP Fit charge was called Fit Factory on my credit card. My card company gave me the number to cancel it. It's actually a web site they charge you to look at. I told the girl I wanted it canceled and I ended up getting rude with her because she kept trying to tell me the benefits of using this web site. I didnt care. She finally canceled and gave me a confirmation number and told me it wouldnt be charged to my account again.
I finally got the acai berry extreme in the mail today, though my card was charged the shipping on the 24th of last month. My credit card said they couldnt stop payment until they charge me again, but I could dispute the charge. He also gave me a number (877-350-8480) to cancel any further shipments. When I called they guy told me the system was down. Convenient. I'm going to call back tomorrow and I better get thru.

I also ordered both products and it did take a long time to get them. The acai berry was very easy to cancel by calling 1-877-350-8480. This is a customer service number, the agents are very nice and ask no questions when you want to cancel. I was a little upset that the charge of $89 was applied one day after I got the trial bottle!?!?! I didnt questions it just took it as a loss and canceled any future orders. I am wondering however why I have a charge from VIP Fit for $29.95? anyone else get this charge?

These people are not scammers.. If you order anything like this off the internet ,free samples only shipping, you should know that there is a catch..In the terms and conditions, it says perfectly clear what to expect with your order in 14 days.. That is why it is called a free trial... (trial period).. I ordered mine and called after one week , the number listed . It was busy a couple times but I got thru no big deal and cancelled. I did take the trial acai berries. They did give me more energy and they did regulate my system on a daily basis of flushing out. Im sure it would take at least a month to two before you will reap all of the listed benefits sand notice change.. after doing plenty research,, there are acai berries at GNC, walgreens, and walmart. I got a bottle of 120 pills that will last two months at walmart for$7.97. they are doing the same results as the free trial...

I feel your pain!!
It has happened to me also. I am currently being charged directly out of my checking account 95.00 for the acai berry and 79.00 for the cleanse. So far since 10-29-08 they have scamed me out of almost $400.00 and I have not received any products (except the trial sample for $5.95). I read everything included with the sample to make sure it was not one of the auto ship products and there was none boy was I surprised when I got a huge overdraft and possible strike against my credit. I cannot reach anyone by phone and have gone to great lengths to get a contact number. I've always thought I was pretty savy with gimmicks but they are real professionals from Florida. Please don't fall for this sample offer!!! Find this product someplace else.

I just talked to a Total Cleanse worker named Heidi... I called 1-866-938-4832 and had to wait about 20 minutes. She was super nice and told me the free trial was supposed to come with 60 and that she'd be happy to cancel my order. The number I found above was actually used for another product called Total Pomegranate, I know it sounds weird, but if you look at their terms & conditions and Total Cleanse's, it's basically the SAME THING, but they just change the product's names, so I figured it was probably the same company being jerks and selling different products.
hateacaiberry wrote on Nov 5, 2008 at 10:53AM
My Total Cleanse trial came with 60 tablets! I'm not sure why... I'm freaking out right now because before I cancelled my debit card, they hadn't charged me the 5.95 yet and now it's shown! I never really actually called Total Cleanse to cancel, I just cancelled my debit card and now I'm calling them to actually cancel. Also, it's been 2 1/2 weeks since I ordered my Acai Berry, and they charged me the 3.95 for shipping and I called them to cancel before the 14 days were up, and I haven't gotten anything from them. When I had cancelled, I talked to representative and asked her specifically if I was going to still get the free trial since they had already billed me and she had said yes. These people make me so angry!

Now when I explained to them I tried cancelling on the tenth day and there phones were not working they asked me to get a read out from my phone company of the numbers that were called from my phone well my phone company doesn't list toll free numbers, now when I told him this he put me on hold for 10 min came back and told me that they would refund half of the $167.46 then put me on hold again to tell me that he misunderstood his supervisor and tehy were only going to refund me half of the total cleanse charge which was $78.84 Ok am I nuts or should I settle for $39.42 cents out of the $167.46 they charged me!? So I asked for a supervisor to call me back since he said there wasn't one available when I asked to be transferred to one.

I ordered "Pure Acai Berry" from Biotech Research with a money back guarantee if I was not satisfied. I've ordered other products from that same Biotech and have been really satisfied. Although I haven't received it yet, I just sent it a few days ago and I DO trust Biotech. I do know that there are other people selling Acai Berry and I was warned to be careful and not order anything except the "Pure Acai Berry". I didn't order mine on the internet, the offer came in the mail from Biotech Research . I was told not to order from the net due to scams. They are sending mine postage free. Biotech Research Consumer Affairs is advertised by "Paul Harvey" on TV. All the comments I read seemed to come from the same company that your did.

I then tried 1-877-615-4233 and stayed on the phone for 20 minutes and then someone picked up. she was nice and gave me a cancellation number. i asked if i was going to be charged the 89.31 and she said no. hopefully she is right. goodluck
hateacaiberry wrote on Oct 28, 2008 at 12:44PM
I was on hold for about 25-30 minutes, but the 1-877-615-4233 number for the acai berry works! They also give you a cancellation number, so if they do end up charging you, you have somewhat proof.

I goggled "acai berry cleanse" and clicked on all the websites I found and then searched for their fine print! I was lucky - because the 1st number I tried work - and it was the 801-208-7485 number that many have had success with. I would start there.

I've tried all the other numbers for the acai berry and the one I was given from the site was the 8480 one, and that didn't work. That one, and all the others one would either be busy, or they'd hang up on me. HOW ANNOYING! I also ordered the Total Cleanse product and the number they provided me with is NOT REAL! Does anyone have the number for it? PLEASE HELP!

I got mine cancelled by calling 1-801-208-7485. You have to call several times for it to finally go through, and you might get hung up on, but eventually someone will pick up.
Neverscammed wrote on Oct 27, 2008 at 5:39PM
So then don't order it and move on. There is always fine print - nobody is scamming you unless you do not do your research, they are in a business like everyone else. Next time go to your local GNC and purchase what you want and leave, no worries or ripped off bank accounts.

When i tried finding the number from the address in yellowpages.com i didnt find anything.. i havent received any products and just want to cancel them!
Trinity0207 wrote on Oct 27, 2008 at 12:37PM

Call 1-801-208-7490 it works! And they are really nice. It is not a scam. They are reimbursing me for the charge that just came though today. It is a little shaddy how they do not tell you about the $89.31 charge that will occur at the end of the 14 days but it is in the TERMS on the bottome of the page.
itriedit2 wrote on Oct 27, 2008 at 7:59AM

i had the same problem your order will take 14 plus days to arrive at your home and you will be billed before you actually receive the product. I called days before I was able to talk with a live representative. Their phone lines are extremely busy. After 2 weeks I finally received the extreme acai berry, however, thats not the one I order. So now I have to call them back to get right product in order for me to see if this a product I would like to product for 90.00. I believe the Supreme was out and figure since it took so long to receive the order it won;t matter what product as send. They are false advertising using Oprah and Rachel Ray to endorse their product to gain publicity to the product. If Oprah advertised it don't have few products of this in your warehouse. Supply and Demand
Dumbmistake wrote on Oct 25, 2008 at 6:58PM
Thank you for providing the fax number! I could not get through to cancel so I faxed the cancellation demand to them stating that I could not get through using the method that they stated in their "terms" due to "maintence and repairs" on their phone lines...I carbon copied my Attorney and the Davie FL Police Dept. and also faxed a copy of my letter to the Davie Police Dept. How can you have a "free" 14 day trial when you receive the product 1 day before your trial ends??? I also filed a complaint with the BBB in FL. Go to BBB.com and type in the company name Extreme Acai Berry. The BBB rates them as a "C" company (scale A-F...)STAY AWAY!!!!!!!

ok the product MIGHT work but how do u expect its buyers and everyone leaving a comment about this product to believe its not a scam. I too have ordered (the free trial) and have yet to get through to the 1-801 number and the 1-877 doesn't work at all. I even tried callin the number kathybr suggested (954-581-7470) and it comes up to be a fax machine!!! So I don't know whats going on. I feel like the company is trying to swindle people. And im still tryin to get passed being on hold!!

I called the Police Dept in Davvie FL, the officer actually drove over to the warehouse and had a person named Rocky call me, they are a shipping company working for the ripp off artists. They claim to have cancelled my order, and my card info, credited my account for 89.31. Rocky claimed in was a phone problem that made it impossible for people to cancel. I received a conf # and am waiting to see if I am credited. I think the company is out of Utah, and ships out of FL. This is all unfolding as I write. The number for "Rocky" at the shipping company is 954-581-7470 and the Davie Police dept is on notice. They were very helpful, I couldn't believe the officer called me several times and drove over there. Renews your faith a little bit.. Good luck to anyone else trying to cancel and get a credit.

I too am one of the victims to this TRICKERY. Also, not sure if you've noticed, but the address is Davie, FL, but the charge on your statement is from Utah??? I tried to call all day, only to get a 'BUSY' signal...then finally this evening I got through (after listening to some stupid recording forever!!)...once I spoke to someone I was told that my cancellation was effective immediately....I guess I'll have to wait and see if the "pending" charge for the automatic order of 'extreme acai berry' pills will actually be processed...and I'm hoping that I don't actually recieve the 2nd bottle as the first one did NOTHING....I am so upset that this has happened, and not only to me, but to everyone else...isn't there something we can do??? Is there any way we can make this company liable for their misleading advertising? Seriously, what are the laws for 'fine print disclaimers' and are they effective throughout the entire US????

I ordered both the acai berry and total cleanse. I do not get the 15 pills for two weeks when you are supposed to take 2 before each meal but I did decide to pay for one month of both to give them a chance. One thing though they ARE supposed to be dissolved in your mouth on the front of the bottle it does say 'MELT AWAY TABLETS" just to let you guys know.

FYI - I am not selling or endorsing anything and I thiink most people on here are regular people that have had issues with hidden fees and such. That is great it works for you, but no need to go bashing those who have opinions, as you do. Would love to hear from more people that have had success on this product, such as yourself.
Trysomethingonce wrote on Oct 19, 2008 at 1:07AM
Renee, for me it has worked so far, it' only been few weeks for me. Bloat is gone, i'm regular, lost inches and have energy. It's pricey but it works, so it's worth it to me. Most here are probably selling it, and is competitors, so of course there 's negative feedback. You have to give it a chance to work, it's not going to work the first day however I saw results after a week.
Trysomethingonce wrote on Oct 19, 2008 at 1:03AM
There's absolutely NO SCAM!! You people just didnt read all the info. The product works, most here havent given the chance. Yes it's pricey but i'd rather pay for something that works. So far bloating and fullness in stomach is no more. I have more energy and so far my body is cleansing itself and i am very regular per say. Also lost inches.....Next time read all the info, the product works well! Way to go Oprah and Dr. OZ

If you can this number to cancel, it will have you on hold for an extremely long time. Thank you guys for providing the right number again. NEVER AGAIN will I fall for this scam. ANYONE READING THIS DO NOT FALL FOR THE ACAI BERRY SCAM. If you want to call and cancel please call 1-801-208-7490.
jbcdefg wrote on Oct 17, 2008 at 8:37AM
I just went thru the same thing. I received the samples within the window, then waiting on hold for 20 minutes before the operater picked up. I cancelled no problem. Unfortunately, I did the same thing for a colon cleanse product called Total Cleanse. They have the same auto bill deal, except the toll free number they provide is BOGUS. Luckily, I was in a position to just cancel my credit card so these scammer will not receive another penny from me. If this product actuall works and I want to buy more I will go somewhere else.
A lesson learned indeed.
MommaHunt wrote on Oct 16, 2008 at 6:42PM
Yes - so far I have not seen any extra charge, other than the standard $3.95 charge that was mentioned anyway. It has been like 2 months now, I think, since I cancelled and still no charges. They better hope that no more charges come on my card! hehehehehe! I pay attention, especailly these days!!!
gramsnc1 wrote on Oct 16, 2008 at 4:20PM
My wife order the product and I called to cancel today...Nate was very helpful and I got a cancellation number within 5 minutes. Let's see if it really cancels! Avoid all internet "deals" or free trails as 99.9% of the time you will get ripped off.
TidyHobo wrote on Oct 15, 2008 at 5:29PM
Same here! I actually read the fine print and don't recall anything about an automatic recurring charge. In fact I ordered EXTREME ACAI BERRY precisely because the other "free trials" I did the auto charge thing, but this one (I thought) did not. When I received the product, which comes with a tiny piece of paper at the bottom of which states there will be an auto recharge, I immediately called and cancelled. I asked Matt, the operator, if he had a lot of complaints about this shady business practice, he paused a long time before answering. The whole thing is a bit shady it seems. From now on, if I want Acai, I will get it at the store! RUN AWAY FROM THIS "COMPANY"

I, too, fell prey to their website. I called the company and did get through for a cancellation number, but also took it further to my bank and cancelled my debit card so that it can't be charged $89.31 again! It looks as though I'm going to have to eat the first $89.31. (Sorry for the pun!)

The pills look like they should be cut in half and could be chewed instead of swallowed. But it doesn't tell you. I have canceled anyway called the phone number from the debit on my bank statement. I got thru right away got a confirmation number. I tried to get the to fax it to me so I could have paper proof but they said they couldn't do that.

I fell for this but have cancelled in time and also called back to check it was cancelled...such a sneaky misleading ad! Like everyone else I agree....why the shadyness if the products so good? Why not be up front? Anyhow I have noticed something else...!!!! The ad advertises The POWER 500 version of Acai product and uses Oprah and Rachael Ray etc ...and then this morning my "FREE 14 DAY TRIAL" (which instructs you to take 2 tablets per day and only provides you with 15 tabs???...14 x 2 was 28 when I went to school?...?!) anyway....it arrives and it is NOT POWER 500 but the weaker Acai "Supreme" product...NOT on the Oprah show and NOT as strong as Power 500 according to the internet reviws?! I called and complained and was told by 1 person they have never stocked Power 500 and sorry she didnt know why that free trial ad said that.....then onto her supervisor who at 1st said sorry they were out of stock of the Power 500 and had been for 2 weeks....but then contradicted herself by saying she didnt know why they have the Power 500 on their ad as they dont stock it....after a good blasting from me she said she'd refund my $3.95 shipping fee....I will be watching my nank account and warning my credit card company anyway. I Hate scammers! How do they even get away with this? Is it not illegal? Im also bringing it to Oprah and Rachael Ray's attention...hopefully enough people will do the same so we get some follow up and get these a-holes shut down!
This was the link I ordered from...DONT do it!

I would suggest anyone having problems cancelling their order to contact the BBB. Just google the BBB on line and it'll take you to the site you need.

I called to ask about the auto billing. I actually felt my bloating and stomach fullness after eating was gone when I took the product. I don't know if it does anything else or how long it takes. I was going to cancel any other shipments but they offered me 2 bottles for the price of one. I am canceling after I get these 2 bottles. He said no problem, and let me know what day I had to call before to cancel. I will know more in a month after I take these for that long. So far, they seem to work a bit for me. Not sure how they work for everyone else?

Glad I read your review, but it was AFTER I purchased the free trial offer. Who feels foolish now? Husband loved it, I was trying to find a place to purchase it, not so easy, read your review - wow - guess I got 31 more days worth coming for 90$. I did cancel any future orders, Pricey, and sleezy operation, but I still want to try it and see if it 'works'. Don't have much of a choice since I didn't read the fine print. Will from now on. thanks

I just read everyones experiences with this company and even if they get everyone for 90.00 one time, they are doing really well. How many thousands of people are they getting 90.00 dollars from. I agree with everyone here, why hide the cost if it is such a great pill????? A lot of people are just trying to get by and this company is a huge rip off......
medical101 wrote on Sep 25, 2008 at 7:06PM
yes, I got stung by them also, and I did call and got no one and emailed and got no one. After calling all day for several days, I got a person and they told me I should have read the print and no refund!!!. I think if they really believed in their product like they claim, they would refund with no questions asked like others who sell on the internet. Really if you think about it anyone can sell anything pill filled with anything and make claims and we would buy it without taking it to a lab because we are trusting to what people say. We need to be more careful when we buy such things over the internet with claims, these people are making a buddle off of the consumers and I take full blame myself too. Good luck to everyone who got suckered into this scam...

Hee hee! I did the exact same thing. As I work typing at home I just put them on speakerphone and continued typing away until FINALLY...about 30 minutes later a person came on line. She said I would be cancelled as I called before the trial period was up and they would not charge me anything and not send any more "product".
I must warn you though...DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM Central Coast Nutraceuticals, Inc. I ordered a trial of AcaiPure from them. Cancelled within the 14 days via phone and was told they would not charge me anymore or send more of their "product." Noticed on my credit card summary this morning I had been charged $39.95 by them. Called them up and they said that I had to actually mail back the remaining pills in the trial within the trial period to not get charged the full amount of the price of the bottle of pills!!!!!! THAT is a blatant rip off!! You dont even have time to try the pills and then to have to mail the remainder trial pills back. They should be sued!!!
MommaHunt wrote on Sep 22, 2008 at 12:29PM
I called on a "non peak" hour - around 1pm - 3pm. I was on hold for about 30 minutes, but I just put the phone on speaker and held on! I know my bank charges me a $35 of so stop payment fee, so to me, $35 was worth sitting on the phone. Plus, by then I was so pissed, that girl didn't mess with me and she cancelled it right when I asked her and did not ask me if I wanted something else!! Poor girl - oh well! It worked!!
MommaHunt wrote on Sep 22, 2008 at 12:27PM
So far, I have not gotten charged anything, except the $3.95 and some $1.40 international fee. I review my credit statements every single month, so just make sure you do that - and if you do see a charge - make sure you call ASAP and raise hell. It is always important to write down alllllll the info you get while cancelling (everything from the name of the person you are talking to, to the time and normally you get a confirmation number!) keep it all!! ;-)
Beth1070 wrote on Sep 22, 2008 at 9:33AM
I TOTALLY AGREE with Momma Hunt's review!!! BUYER BEWARE!
I ordered the free trial sample for the $3.95 shipping, but was not aware that if I did not cancel the orde within 14 days that I would automatically be charged $90 for another shipment of the product. I then went to their website and read the terms, which is a tiny little link at the bottom of the page. There it explains that I will be shipped another 30 day supply each month for a charge of $90 unless I cancel the order. I have been trying to cancel the order all morning today but have now been on hold for almost an HOUR! If I do not get through to someone soon, I will have to take care ofthis trhough my bank and deny any and all charges from this fraudulent company.
DO NOT ORDER THIS PRODUCT!!! EVEN IF IT DOES WORK (which I have not seen or felt any results for myself) IT IS NOT WORTH THE FINANCIAL HEADACHE!

yes they canceled it over the phone...............got a conformationnumber and i also called them back a second time to make sure it was cancelled.....................

Did they actually cancel your subscription? I just got big by this and am in the process of trying to reach someone to cancel but I am concerned they will continue to charge my debit card.
starsprite wrote on Sep 17, 2008 at 12:00PM
Unfortunately you can't reach them by calling that number...they never answer the phone..you are on hold listening to music for hours. CALL YOUR CREDIT CARD COMMPANY IMMEDIATELY AND CANCEL THEM BEFORE THEY BILL YOU!

I had the same experience with this product.............ordered free sample then month later received a full bottle at a charge of 89.31!! Called to cancel and return bottle, was told can't return, should of read fine print!!! I wonder how many got took with this one!! Lesson learned for me.

The same thing happened to me, what a rip off. I never fall for things like this but it sounded to good to be true. The pills haven't done a thing. Never again will I fall for something like this.
martyo wrote on Sep 8, 2008 at 2:54PM
hey did you ever get billed after you called?
i called today to cancel and whoever i talked to said they were cancelling it but i got the feeling she didn't know what she was talking about.
MommaHunt wrote on Sep 5, 2008 at 11:29AM
WOW! Thanks for this tip...........I guess the bottom line is just don't buy any of the internet stuff that sounds too good to be true!
Informationaddict wrote on Sep 4, 2008 at 12:30PM
If you think this is a rip off, please pay close attention to the tea that is advertised. Wu-Yi Tea. Not only do they charge for the postage, they include a 3 mos supply and charge your card without telling you they sent extra. They sign you with an exercise group that is also charging you. It proofs, "you get nothing for free"! All these things are true rip offs if they tell you to try for free but yet ask for your credit card information including credit checks.
MommaHunt wrote on Sep 3, 2008 at 12:25PM
I hear ya!! I wonder if it would let you buy the product if you uncheck the box? Hmm......
PattyTherre wrote on Sep 3, 2008 at 3:26AM
I just had to go back to the site and it also says that, unless you uncheck the box for something else, you'll be charged $8.91 a month. The box is already checked and looks like an ad. Make sure you aren't getting charged for that too. This site is very misleading and extremely shady! I would not use the product based on the rip off tactics. If this stuff is that great, they wouldn't need to be hiding their charges. Makes me so mad...

Yep, I saw that when I was looking at the site. Most places that offer a "trial" or especially a "30 day trial" then charge your card the whole amount after 30 days. I never sign up for ANY of that stuff because they always rip me off. Sorry it happened to you. I have been inundated with emails about this stuff too. Ugh.

Thank you for your reply. I am actually doing very well. I have finished my treatment in April of 2007 (incl. Radiation). My problem was that I kept on gaining weight due to the steroids. It scared me a lot. Until a friend recommended the detox program. It was a blessing!

So glad that this message board helped in your decision. Hope the chemo is going well for you - that is some nasty stuff! Would love to hear how you are doing.

I read all your comments and decided not to try it, although it sounds enticing. However, I have done the Isagenix program several times, which worked fantastic and I'll stick with it. All natural and I actually lost 10 lbs in 14 days. After my chemo, it cleansed my body of toxins and made me feel extremely well. I guess that will be the way to go for me. Thanks again!

There is a place on the website - but you have to search....most of the time it is in the bottom where it says "disclosure" - but not many people (including myself) look there. I was just excited to get it, but then after 2 weeks of NOT getting, I got pissed and searched for a phone number to call and found it on every website....the phone numbers differed a little bit - but the one I chose to call was the right number, so I am sure they are all connected to one company. ANYWAY - yes, beware and I would just suggest NOT to buy this product.....simply for all the hidden fees involved. I still have not used the product. I worry because it took to long to ge to me and then once I got the bottle, it was like a 100 degree days here in GA and the bottle was very hot - not sure what temp does to the product, ya know?!! plus, I 'm pissed at them!!!

This is a scam. Do not sign up for a free trial they will bill you 90.00 and there is no place on the website that says it will charge you. I want to expose this ripoff company. Please be aware.
MommaHunt wrote on Aug 26, 2008 at 8:21AM
Crazy! I am sorry that you are having such a problem.....that is totally stupid!!! MAN! I hope you get your money back ASAP! I love to write complaint letter - so off I go to write one to Oprah......she probably never even used that stuff.

when they finally sent me the first email (after days) in response they said i had clicked the ok and the terms were there. i responded that i was dissatified and in the terms it says if dissatisfied you can return the product if if oh and only if you get them to give you the magic code for your envelope with in the sacred 14 days from the day they mail it. i requested it within thier time frame but well that magic code hasnt happened even after many emails. of course there were also calls to attempt to get a person in "customer service" (a joke). in another email they said thousands of customers were happy with thier monthly pills and bills. thousands. wow. i hope since they alude to Oprah's indorsment she is getting a little something for her trouble. i am not happy. i called my credit card company and am challanging it and will include all my emails to them. the man at the credit card company said he has heard it very many times from very many customers of his. guess that is not the same 'many thousdands of happy customers' that the outfit claims are so thrilled to be billed almost 89 dollars for this product.
ChrisPix wrote on Aug 25, 2008 at 9:28AM
yes i am dealing with them too and trying to get my money back. if thier product is so superier than why isnt it sold in a more open and honest way? i have been back and forth with these people for days. not allowed to talk with a 'supervisor' and only by email on certain times and days. horrible customer service. I wonder if Oprah is ok with them using her name and picture in thier ad.

Don't do it I fell into the trap as well, I was charged for 1 bottle at 89.32, by the time I called to get it cancelled it had already been sent they have a no return policy, but did cancel so that I won't receive or get charged anymore for this stupid product. Has anyone had success with it? All it has done for me is make me extremely nauseated.
MommaHunt wrote on Aug 22, 2008 at 8:37AM
Sorry for the delay in reading this!! I held forever and just told the girl to cancel it and I added that I would be very pissed if I find they charge my card! So, she took that advice and just did it!! Hope you had good luck with cancelling it!
earlene2533 wrote on Aug 21, 2008 at 2:53PM
i wish i had followed my first mind and not ordered the free trial i didn't read the fine print where they could charge you 89.31 every 31 days with the way they do business they'll lose more business that they will gain because of their underhanded way.
Mary31 wrote on Aug 15, 2008 at 2:13PM
WOW! Thank you so much, I had ordered this same product and it was just shipped, I noticed a 60 capsule bottle that came with the free trial but I knew that nothing is for free and there must be a hidden charge. I keep browsing to get reviews on this company and nothing not even on the BBB until I read your comment, I'm making sure I call right now (although they have previously put me on hold for ever). How did you get refunded and is there an easier way to cancel?
