I currently attend AAU, and have been there since earlier this year. I am in the Graphic Design program, online program. Here is my overall opinion on the following:
Teachers - so far, I have had a good experience with the classes I have had. The teachers seem intelligible and educated in their area, and have experience to offer with the class. Interaction with the teachers is easy, and they are responsive. However I have had a teacher who seemed not fit to teach in terms of her responses, ability to write, and involvement with the class.
Online navigation, etc - very simple. The interface is easy to use. Outlines, discussions, home page, everything is easy to fine. I have not had any problems with slow uploads/downloads. There was a minor glitch prior to a deadline, however, it was noted and adjustments were made technically and with the deadlines.
Course content - each class has been challenging. Basic core techniques and skills are learned, but even those who have some experience have been said to be challenged. For the beginning art student you will be challenged for sure. Beginning sketching is very tough to learn. Graphic design programs are informative, and I feel I learned much from the Adobe program classes.
The deadlines are strict, and much is expected of students. In addition, the school is quite expensive. However, all art schools are priced relatively the same. If you are looking into an art school, more specifically online, I would recommend AAU.
