Pros

    great malt-hop balance

JUL

2008

* Slightly hazy amber-orange brew with frothy beige head.  Good lacing on glass.

* Round caramelly malty nose with spicy hop aroma.

* semi-dry toasty malt palate has spicy-herbal hop flavor and firm -but not sharp- bittering.

* Finish is very nicely balanced; malt and hops achieve good harmony.  Good length.

* Body is medium; mouthfeel is a tad creamy.

Synhopsis:

The Abita Brewing company has been around almost as long as the microbrewing revolution itself and it has maintained very high standards of quality.  This new release only bolsters that image.  Jockamo IPA is great sipping beer...very enjoyable.

Yepper- I just did a full write up on this beer for Beer Across America beer-of-the-month club, so I got the whole low-down on Jockamo from the brewery.

I haven't tried this one, sounds like a Bryan Brew, but I would like to check out this summers Wheat. You probably already know that the beer is named for the Mardi Gras Indians . . . but fun to share.
