If you've ever had a urinary tract infection you know how horrible they are and how rushing to the bathroom every ten minutes is exhausting and painful. I get Urinary Tract Infections often as I have a condition that causes them to happen quite frequently and they are something that can be very painful. I got sick of going to the doctor and getting a prescription for them all of the time so my doctor recommended that I went out and bought this as he said that it worked just as well as the prescription and that it would be cheaper and easier for me to get without having to make an appointment. I was surprised that when I started taking this that within a day I was already starting to feel a lot better. When you are having a lot of discomfort going to the bathroom, it makes it a big chore and something that you try to avoid doing, so this has made it so much easier and now I keep this with me and take it at the first signs of starting to feel any discomfort. Now that I take this, I found that I have urinary problems a lot less frequently then I used to and they get cleared up a lot faster than they used to be.

I don't know what I would have done if it had not been for Azo! I was out of town when all of the sudden I started having intense pains. It wasn't long before I realized that there was something wrong in my urinary tract. I believe it was a urinary tract infection that was bringing such terrible pain. Going to the bathroom was so painful and I had no idea what to do because I was only 15 years old. My aunt gave me some Azo and within a few hours it wasn't as painful to go to the bathroom. She also uses it frequently because she suffers from urinary tract infections as well. Within a day or two I was almost back to normal. This was a lifesaver because I was out of town and I couldn't see my primary physician to get help. If you have a urinary tract infection this is a must have! I will never forget the relief it brought me. This is a must have for relief when you cannot see your physician right away.

I really think this is good to temporarily relieve urinary pain. I suffer often from urinary pain and this is really helpful. it doesn't take all of the pain away, but it does subdue the pain. Almost every time I take it, I forget it changes the color of the urine. Drink plenty of water with this. I wouldn't recommend taking this all of the time because I am not sure if it is good for the bladder for long term use. One, thing I noticed when I take this is that I get really bloated afterwards and have some cramping. After about a half an hour I am usually fine, I am not sure if everyone reacts to it like I do, but this is a symptom I have noticed when I take it. Effectiveness I think it is fairly effective. I don't think that it takes away all of the pain but it does help to manage the pain. Ease of Use Very simple to use: take two pills with water. I don't think the pills are too big, so that is a plus. Immediacy it takes about 20 minutes to a half an hour for me to notice a change.

I have used Azo standard for many years for urinary discomfort. I find that Azo works to relieve my bladder discomfort within 1 to 2 hours after taking a tablet. However, Azo will stains my clothing because of the pyridium also known as phenazopydrine the pain reliever. The draw backs for Azo are the costs and the staining of the clothing. Unlike, Cystex the Azo consists of a dye like material that will make the urine red. However the prices is about the same for both over the counter medicines. I find that Cystex doesn't really solve my discomfort. I find that taking 1 to 2 tablets a day, instead of the recommended 4 to 6 per day works for my pain. I think that is great because I don't have to worry about taking extra medicine that could have extra side effects, including the risk of cancer. I find that Azo is a powerful angelic for urinary infections and can be taken with most of antibiotic medicines. However, the Azo is not to substitute for the treatment of a physician. I like that I can purchase it at almost any pharmacy, supermarket, or retailer. I like that Azo is good about offering coupons to help reduce the cost of the Azo standard product. I highly recommend the product for women of any age, but use as directed.

I have had problems with urinary infections; since the birth of my first child.  My doctor prescribed Azo Tabs for the pain, burning, and discomfort of urination.  He suggested I buy them at the drug store, use according to the directions on the package, and call him if was not better in two days.  I followed his directions exactly.  I took two tablets three times a day with a full glass of water.  The doctor stressed that drinking lots of water was very important.  It turns my urine a dark yellow, and I have to be careful about staining.  The stains are difficult to remove.  I keep it on hand all the time and so far it has cured my pain problems before the two days have ended.  I've never had to call the doctor for more help.  I feel safe in using it because of my doctor's recommendation, and I have suggested it to friends who were suffering from similar urinary symptoms.  It is a trifle expensive, but I know it would cost more if it were a prescription product.

Whenever I have a bladder infection, first I reach for 100% Cranberry Juice, and then these pills. AZO Standard Urinary Relief Tablets is a great alternative or addition to help with the urgency and pain that occurs. While these small red pills won't stop a very bad urinary infection in it's tracks, it will help relieve a mild infection and symptoms quickly. My Mom and I both swear by this product and would defiantly recommend it to anyone with a bladder infection. It's one of those medicines we always have on hand in our medicine cabinet just in case and great when a sudden bladder infection creeps up on you, especially when you're trying hard to sleep. Don't be alarmed when you pee orange! That's a side effect of the pill.

I happen to start having burning and frequent feelings of need to urinate on a late Friday afternoon, so getting to the doctors office was out of the question. Upon the advice of a close friend, I gave AZO urinary pain relief tablets a try. Could not possibly hurt the situation because I was totally miserable by the time I left work. Well I headed straight to the drug store and got home and took two tablets, It seems within the first one half hours I was noticing that that nagging feeling of having to race to the bathroom was gone. I did drink as much water and cranberry juice as I possibly could get down to try and help the situation also. By Saturday morning I was feeling great again. I did continue to take the AZO tablets for the remainder of the weekend so that I would not have a relapse. I continued with my regimen of plenty of water and cranberry juice and cranberry capsules until I made it to the doctor Monday morning. Glad I listened to my friend!!

This review will be a little different than most I have written. I (knock on wood) have never sulffered from a (UTI)-urinary tract infection. I hope I never do. Most people I know really seem to be miserable when they have a UTI. I worked as a Med.-Surg. nurse at our local hospital for sixteen years. When people would have any Surgery on the Urinary tract system the Urologist would put them on Pyridium. I remember it well because their urine would be a bright orange-almost red color. Pyridium was for urinary tract pain. Now pyridium is the same as AZO and it can be purchased without a prescription.I use to care for a little lady who was ninety three years old. She kept a UTI. I got her some of this OTC AZO Standard until the doctor could see her.She thought it was the "best". When she took the AZO she said that the pain on urination,was much better.She also no longer had Urgency and Frequency. So you see she would have no reason to lie about that. Remember to see your Doctor if you think you may have a UTI. Azo eliminates the symptoms but it is not a cure.
