Most HelpfulI have been a customer to several different cell phone coverage providers over the years, and the most recent one that I have been using is Cingular, who turned to AT&T shortly after we signed the contract. The plan was simple enough; giving us 800 anytime minutes, free nights and weekends, rollover...

Most HelpfulFolks please beware if you are an ATT customer-formerly Cingular.
I sure wish cingular would not have sold me out to ATT.
If you read this and have a recommendation for a good phone company please tell me
your point of view !
Yesterday I received a "courtesy call" from ATT telling me both of my phones were...
Several years back I thought I would join the real world and get a cell phone. It made sense to get cell phone service from my usual company - AT&T. My parents went with AT&T for long distance. Phone services deregulated by the time I decided, but I went with AT&T. Felt pretty solid. There were other companies out there, but I felt comfortable with AT&T.
I went to the mall in town and got my cell phone and AT&T service all set up. I went home, and the phone would not "set up." I called the mall. They said to try it from where I work. This should have been a clue, but I did not get as not having...
read full review »I shopped around quite a bit before choosing Cingular Wireless last year. I like to get a good price, but I also value quality and great customer service. I talked to people, talked to multiple salespeople for each company and finally decided on Cingular.
We chose our phones, paid for them, and were offered a $50.00 rebate on each phone. They were out of rebate forms, so I returned for them a few days later (as they suggested). Apparently, they gave me the wrong forms as the expiration date was later found to be incorrect. I sent it in at the last minute, only to be denied a rebate due to the...

A Two-Minute Play, set at HQ of a large cellphone service provider.........
Ann: What should we do to people who sign a one- or two-year contract?
Damien: Ah, sell 'em a crappy phone at a big discount. That way, they'll get so frustrated, they'll buy a replacement for hundreds of dollars!
Blackbeard: Great idea - that'll create exorbitant profits and bonuses for us!
Lucifer: And let's save a little more by eliminating almost all the seating from the retail stores. Make customers who are waiting for help just wander around on concrete floors with cheap carpeting, and look at expensive...
We have been customers of AT&T Wireless/Cingular/AT&T mobility or whatever name they go by for about 10 years and I've never had a complaint about the customer service or plan qualities. I've had the typical "why can everyone else talk on their phones in WalMart, and I cannot get reception in here" complaints, but that was due to the low quality of my brand of cell phone, not the company feeding me the service.
I've switched to a high quality Motorola phone (Slvr) that DOES get reception in WalMart! Each time I've contacted AT&T customer service over the phone or internet, they have been friendly...

I signed up for Cingular, which I loved. The service was excellent, I dropped exactly one call in a year, and never had a problem accessing any of my services. Since AT&T took over, I've hated every minute.
The dropped calls are the worst. With Cingular, I could drive the 30 minutes from my old job to my house and never hit a dead spot. I never had a problem logging on to the internet, and Yahoo logged me in every time. With AT&T, I drop calls on an average of 3 times a week, and can't even get from my new job 3 miles away to home without dropping a call. I pay an additional $15 per...
