AT&T —

I have been a customer to several different cell phone coverage providers over the years, and the most recent one that I have been using is Cingular, who turned to AT&T shortly after we signed the contract.  The plan was simple enough; giving us 800 anytime minutes, free nights and weekends, rollover minutes, a media plan, and an additional line all for under $100.00 a month.  Not a bad deal to get two cell phones on the same plan for that price, and though it seemed a little expensive at first, the plan has worked quite well for almost a year, and I still haven't had a single problem with the service.

One of the deals that they were offering is a heavy discount on my new Sony Ericsson phone as well as a large discount on our Sync.  We also wanted to make sure that we had enough minutes to use on the plan, so we signed up for the 800 anytime minutes.  If any of those minutes are not used in a month, they rollover as extra on the next month.  Talking on nights and weekends doesn't count against that total, and an additional feature that we were given was free mobile-to-mobile within the Cingular system.  So, all minutes between the two phones are free, and don't count against our totals.  As of now, we have yet to  have a month where we actually used the full 800 minutes.

Accompanying the minutes is the media package that we signed up for, which gives us each 400 text messages every month, and a certain amount of Internet activity based on how many KB you download.  Its a lot of text messages to be sure, and we haven't used all of those in a month yet either, but it is nice to have them there just in case.  Regarding the Internet, it gives us plenty of time to log on anywhere we have "bars" and you can basically go anywhere you want to do anything from check your e-mail to look at the football scores.  I use it as a good way to pass the time if I am waiting in line somewhere, or I just need to waste a few moments while I am waiting to meet someone.  Having the Internet so accessible is quite a nice feature, and it doesn't cost us much more to have that feature.

Regarding the service, every once in a while I will lose a call in a bad reception area, but on the whole I have been quite pleased with the cell service I have received.  Billing as always been correct, and we get a little Governmental discount since we work in Education.  I have had problems with cell phone companies in the past, but everything has gone smoothly this time around, and we have nothing but good things to say about AT&T after their merger with Cingular.  It was easy to set up this plan in-person, and it is adjustable online, where you can also pay your bill and check on your minutes/messages.  At about $100.00 a month for the two phones (after what seems like excessive taxation) it is affordable for us to use this service, and the results have been good enough to keep us on as satisfied customers.

I've also had very good luck with AT&T / Cingular. I rarely have "no bars" and I love their cheap international calling plans.
