For the area, I guess Cingular / AT&T is ok, but recently my "go-phone" (prepaid service) was stolen. I called the company and had NO problem putting the account on hold until a new phone could be purchased. The gentleman on the phone was very nice, very helpful, and very polite.
HOWEVER....once I purchased a new phone, the hassles started. The lady on the phone with me was very curt and snippy. She insisted that my number must be replaced. She insisted that I could not keep the same calling plan I originally had, and she also insisted that I had to make another payment that day to restore any type of service. I asked to speak with a supervisor, and was placed on hold for 27 minutes. The original woman finally got back on the phone, and was suddenly able to keep my same number, restore the service, and not require a payment that day. However, my call plan did change (costing me more money) and my next payment will for some unknown reason be due one week early.
I would gladly switch companies if there was a better alternative. If you have a different option to use in your area, I would suggest that.
