Better than the Dish by pixels

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Bottom-Line: AT&T's U-Verse Service is a solid winner in my book and well worth the costs.

No longer willing to put up with the Dish, we recently had AT&T U-Verse installed (we opted for the HD digital cable service and broadband Internet) and so far the results are spectacular!

Installation

Free Installation of the U-Verse Service took about three hours to complete (not unheard of) and involved the running of coax cable, installation and setup of the router/modem, and finally the installation/turn-up of the individual cable receivers including a DVR.  Because we watch HBO and Showtime throughout the year we opted for the U450 cable s...

Worth the Wait

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I've been waiting to get AT&T's newest bundle, U-verse, since they first came out with it towards the beginning of the year. Before I go any further with this review, I will be honest and mention that my husband is an employee for U-verse and is in fact in management. Yet stating that, I also feel I can be honest about my opinions of the product and the service.U-verse combines three services, phone, cable TV, and internet, not only just in one bundle, but also all feeding off the phone line and off of one wireless router connected to your computer. Because of this, it allows everything to inter-connect. To be honest, though, our cable services and satellite services already have this ca...

can't even upgrade too lazy to take my order

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

I had Uverse TV but switched to Direct TV for the sports to please my husband. We continued to use Uverse for internet and after 6 months with Direct TV decided to go back to a full package with U verse. OMG they put you on hold switch you to another department and then drop the call. I call back and have to start all over, they put me on hold and then 20 minuntes later another person comes on the line and has no idea why I am on the line, then they say sorry sales department is closed now. Seriously what company does this when someone is trying to upgrade to spend more money with them. Finally i just placed the order on line and received confirmation that insall of additional service would be 1/28, today. No call no show and when I go online to check order status it says you have no pending orders. Don't waste your time, obviously this company is soooo fabulous they can't be bothered to even upgrade a current customer. Ridiculous.... Comcast here i come!

Worst Product and Customer Service Ever

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

Please don't waste your time and money on Uverse. Take my advice so you don't have to suffer the frustration that I have. I had to get uverse as it was the only television service allowed at my apartment complex. It took 2 weeks of me calling every other day and staying in the phone for 30-hour each time until I was able to even get someone out to set up my service. They messed up my order 3 times and messed up the instillation appointments twice. Once it was finally set up (after pulling teeth to get it done), my uverse worked on day one and thereafter, has gone out every single day for the last 2 months. Everytime I want to watch tv I have to prepare for at least 30 minutes to spend restar...

Nowhere near what I expect from a company like AT&T

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and sometimes a small move turns into moving into a new city and the availability of providers changes from city to city. I have had several different providers for cable service and AT&T - UVerse is by far THE WORSE. You see, sadly because AT&T is a company with a deep rooted history in providing a service and because they have really attractive offers and because they have flashy advertising it is easy to fall into their trap but do not. First off the cable is terrible. Frequent flashes of darkness for about 10-20 seconds throughout each and every day. What they consider customer service is PITIFUL. It is almost impossible to navigate through t...

U-Verse Bad Service and Customer Service Experience SCAM

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

My Price I have quoted is $70-$75 with tax and after the billing period you will end up paying $100-$120 and I went to discuss and take care this issue in At&t mira mesa location where I open my U-verse account. Because I received my first bill and I notice I was overcharge and they said He will take care this issue for me and adjust the price. then later on second billing surpricing you will notice there's nothing happen at all same thing ovecharge. then i went back to At&t mira mesa location and there not admitting they do anything adjustments pretty much there are lying about it. they just told me to called U-verse and I did call them and they just keep passing me to any department to take care overcharge and no one help me out. at all so I decide to cancel this service but charges still in my account. they know how to play with you. that way you can just go with it. this is my first time experience. sucks service with hidden fees...

Service is average, install is anything but professional!

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

So the Uverse service as it compares price and value wise is competitive with Time Warner.  For the package offered to me now it is a better deal slightly.

Sales and installation is another thing.  Sales will promise the world and tell you that they will back it up.

Installation is the pits.  Professional would not be the word.  Correctly installed in the wall not even close.  Instead they will attach faceplates to the wall with only screws.

So if you go for AT&T make sure that the rooms you want to have it installed in already have outlets.  If not have someone else do it so they can not touch the wall.

For those concerned with the tech behind it, Uverse is...

not what i signed up for....

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

i signed up for the promotional offer...supposedly better than what i had, Bright House Cable. "will not stick, will not run slow with multiple users at once...etc.". Well for promo deal i left my cable provider and went to ATT. Well, i have had my service for less than two months, not yet 2nd bill and they have already asked for $500. I downgraded to lessen my bill thinking maybe i didn't understand something and my bill is still way more than with my last provider!! was on hold multiple times for bill support for over an hour and still got disconnected twice! did the online "chat" with bill inquiries for 30 minutes to find out at the end it was tech support and that person could not do anything, but HE DID AGREE i was overcharged. go figure!! i do not recommend att! it does stick or pause....it does run slow...I do not see any difference between them and a regular cable provider. don't be fooled by the hype like I was!!!

Great Cable!!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I recently changed my internet cable to AT&T - UVerse Service and I am very glad I did. The service is great both for the internet as well as cable and it is cheaper then who I was using before.

What I really enjoy about the cable is that when I am watching a station, I can check the channels without ever leaving that station. There is a panel that comes up at the bottom of the screen showing me what is playing on the other stations, how many more minutes are left in the show as well as an option to see what is coming on next. I love changing channels and this way I never miss what is going on.

There are many packages that you can choose from that will give you more movie channels or sports channels, but even with the basic package that I have there are over 300 channels which has the perfect combination of sports, news, family, and movie channels!

AT&T is very easy to use and very easy to set up.

I've been enjoying my AT&T U-verse for months now

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I always here people not liking AT&T but my family and I have been with them for more then 4 years now and haven't encountered that many problems. The representatives at the store are always helpful, friendly, and explain everything in great detail (especially for me and my mother who are not the most tech savvy). I was upgrading my phone and was offered u-verse because it was now in our area. So we thought we would upgrade from our basic cable ( we would have had to change anyway to something else because of the cable switch over). So it looked like the payments would be about the same if not a little less then what we were already paying, and there was a 30 guaranty if we didn't like it th...

Do not order U-verse!

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

In early September, I went to the AT&T store to order U-verse TV and internet service.  After spending nearly an hour and a half there, the sales rep told me my apartment was in "the system," although apartments in my complex were. To get my unit the system would take 5-10 days, and they'd call me as soon as this happened.  They took my credit card and other information and I thought I was on my way to service.

Wrong. Nearly three weeks went by and nothing happened.  My fiance and I went back to the store, and although the apartment was now showing up in their system, they had no record of what the previous sales rep set me up with.  So we have to do the whole&...

Inhuman Customer Service

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

AT&T treats customers like the Roman's treated the cultures they conquered and enslaved. My proof is as follows:

1. Misleading Phone Reps

When I set up my account, only two months ago, I was told that my bundled bill (internet and cable) would be $75 per month, thanks to some special offers. A few weeks later, an automated voice called me to inform me that my bill, "may be higher than expected". Keep in mind that I do not have any phone service through AT&T and my bill SHOULD be consistent each month.

As the bill so helpfully itemized each fee and charge, I know that the reason that my bill was $139 ($64 MORE than I was told) wa...

AT&T UVerse nightmare - damaged my whole phone installation

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

Summary: Prepare for having your house / apt scrutinizing, blackouts when rolling back and a lot of time spent with AT&T support lines and test all the phone line jacks before the technician leaves. Forget about what they say, they do not support more than 1 tv set.

I have had a really bad experience with AT&T UVerse installation. A couple of weeks ago I decided to switch to UVerse since there was no break up fee and no required minimal subscription time, I thought if I did not like it I just switch back to my old DSL. This in spite of my visit to the local AT&T sales office where the seller said that he did not know anything about it (I asked questions about how it is different than D...

How did I watch TV before this?

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I don't know how I watched TV before we got U-Verse. I will admit that in the first months we had it, the quality of the TV service was not the best. However, we no longer have any of the problems we had at first and the picture is now exceptional. The DVR capabilities are also incredible, this is the feature I didnt know I wanted, but now can't live without. Great job AT&T.

Also, customer servise when I was upgrading to HD service was great. I simply started an instant messaging chat with a representative, verified my identity, and he turned the HD service on. Very hassle free.

Oh, and a final note. The internet has a battery backup. As long as I can keep my laptop charged, I can go on the internet during a power outage.

I'm regretting my decision to switch to AT&T UVerse.

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

I've read some reviews about AT&T UVerse-some of which are too technical for me; however I'm smart enough to know that I'm dissatisfied with the unreliability of my service. We switched to UVerse about 6 months ago from Direct TV and DSL because it was supposed to be so much better and it would be one bill and slightly less expensive. Honestly, I had absolutely no complaints about Direct (except it seemed other people I knew were paying a lot less for it) and DSL wasn't that slow but it was consistently reliable. Now everytime I turn around, we are having problems with uverse. The whole system has to be reset fairly often and we've already had to have the DVR and the router replaced. When we...
