I am not much of a television or movie watcher, but my wife is. I am a computer professional and have had DSL since it has been available in my area since the late 1990's. We have had Pacbell/SBC/ATT landline service and DSL since then. Our cable company has been Charter and while programming has been OK, service has been terrible with Charter.
Our DSL speed has degraded over the years in our neighborhood and ATT recently installed fiber to the block. When in talking to the repair techs, they suggested that by trying the ATT UVerse TV and Internet access, it should solve the problem.
We had it installed, 3 weeks ago. Free installation, 3 setop boxes we added a 4th, 1 with a DVR, recabling 4 television sets with CAT5 wire instead of COAX, a 2Wire internet gateway and we picked the U-300 package, currently $94 per month for 240 channels and high speed internet access, up to 1500 down/1000 up.
IPTV is a little different technology than cable and we do not have any HD TV's. The picture on all of our sets is visibly better than our Charter ever was. We did get occaisional pixilation problems and they came back our to repair the wiring connections outside the house last weekend and since then we have had no problems.
Internet access has been at least 3x better than the previous DSL and I am only paying for the slowest category of internet.
Programming is good and DVR works well.
Still too new to really rave about, but if it is available in your area it is well worth the look.
