Clock Tower was one of the best games released in the days of the psx. The first of the series released in the United States, it’s a wild point and click adventure set to what looks like a B rate horror film. Although the graphics aren’t the best they actually add to the overall creepy feel of the game. The plot is based around Scissorman, this mysterious unstoppable murderer/ monster that uses a giant pair of scissors as his murder weapon, hence the name. It may sound hokey but it’s seriously one of the scariest survival horror games I’ve ever played, even compared to Resident Evil and Silent Hill. The point and click aspect of the game may put some gamers off but it really shouldn’t. It isn’t hard to get used to and it’s totally worth it. The game consists of 3 random levels ranging from a university building, to a library, to a mansion and multiple endings according to which secret options you choose during the game making it high in replay value. The randomness also ensures that the scare factor never decreases making it an excellent party game. If you ever come across this gem you should pick it up since they’re quite rare now days. Believe me if you’re a fan of survival horror and you play for actual game play value over graphics its well worth it.
