Attending American Intercontinental University On-line was a rewarding educational experience for me. On-line learning is challenging, but I'm an individual who likes to be challenged. I had the opportunity to attend live chats sessions and participate on the Discussion Boards. In addition, I enjoyed the Individual Projects and Group Projects as well. These learning modules taught me how to think critically and think outside the box. The Group Projects were my favorites; they taught me how important it is to work on a team project with many students who had different opinions and views. I was fortunate to have team members who followed through on their part of the project; not many students can say that.
The staff at American Intercontinental University were more than good, they were exceptional. My academic advisor who prepared my courses called me to confirm that she had received my transcripts, and she signed me up for the necessary courses that I would be taking in my Associate degree program. She was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what I needed to take. In addition, there were courses that transferred from the junior college I had attended. I only had to take a few more general education courses and some business courses. I believe that how she prepared my courses in sequence really helped me to do so well. I was able to breeze through the program.
The professors I had were awesome, and each one contributed to my success. The substantive feedback I received from some of them on my work made me really feel more and more confident in my abilities. Yes, the assignments were challenging, but I was very determined to become a better reader, writer, researcher, learner, and most of all, critical thinker.
My admissions advisor stood beside me every step of the way. His concern when he spoke with me over the telephone was more than, "How are you doing?" He actually took time from his busy schedule and allowed me to read my graded assignments to him over the telephone. His weekly calls were an indication that he showed interest and wanted me to do my very best which made me do even better.
Graduating in September of 2008 and completing my Associate of Arts in Business Administration (concentration in Business) with a 3.9 GPA is an indication of my hard work, motivation, dedication, determination, and intellectual ability. In addition, l held down a full-time job while pursuing my degree. If I can do this, anyone can. You just have to work hard, concentrate, apply yourself, and stay focused. And, there were some obstacles along the way, but I overcame each one. There was a time when I had to repeat Biology, but I was assigned a different instructor, and I did much better the second time.
In summary, American Intercontinental University really helped me to become the successful person I am, and I have my teachers, academic advisor, and admissions advisor to thank. Being able to do my assignments when I wanted to (24/7) was the FLEXIBILITY PART which on-line learning offers, but you do have to turn in your assignments at 11:59 p.m. every Sunday night, and the CONVENIENCE PART was knowing I did not have to drive to school to attend class.
I have no regrets and if I had to do it all over again, I would still choose American Intercontinental University.
So, if you are considering an on-line education, why not give American Intercontinental University a try.
