Wondering where to go when Tivo isnt enough? ABC's Full Episode Player! ABC offers full episodes online and it is a big hit with Viewpoints members. They love being able to watch their favorite television shows when they want, how they want. The only downside they report is that there is no closed captioning. So, if you are hearing impaired, this may not be the perfect experience.

Ever come home from an evening out only to realize you missed a show you normally watch?  Maybe you go to Tivo and find that some scheduling glitch (Sports Event) tricked the system.  It does happen.  Or maybe you just discover a new show that you enjoy and wish you could back the series up a little...

Why should I have to download the 32mb ABC Video Player onto my computer, when NBC and CBS allow you to view online episodes right from their websites, with no software downloads? 

Also, the ABC player 'window' is one size only, and I can't even access the controls at the bottom of the page.  It won't...

I like the look of the website. But I hate watching the shows on the player. The shows are always freezing and I hate that I have to push "continue" after each commercial segment.  In comparison to Fox, CBS and NBC - ABC's is the worst.  Of the four major sites, ABC is the only one that freeze up on me everytime.  And it is not my computer's fault. I watch shows on the other sites without a problem.  Also, getting up to click "continue" after commercials is silly. I can't get comfortable watching my show because every 10 minutes or so, I have to get up to click "continue". Another reviewer... review »

I do not have cable right now and that makes this on-line viewer even more awesome. i get to watch the shows i love at my own convenience and for free! being a mother of two both of those things are super important. if my kids don't go to bed when i want them to i don't miss my shows. if they wake up in the middle of a great part of my favorite show i can pause and resume when the peace and quiet settles in again. my husband and i always watch certain shows together and others apart. its a pretty cool concept, and its working out for us. now on the other side, i really don't like having to get...

Bravo to ABC for making many of the shows from their current season available online for free!!  I love many of the ABC shows, Eli Stone, Ugly Betty, Boston Legal etc. and I really enjoy being able watch them whenever I can afford the time. 

With that being said, I think that the ABC Full Episode player leaves alot to be desired.  I can tollerate watching the same commercial 5 times in a row, but I don't like having to get up just to click the mouse once.  (I watch shows from across the room).  My husband and I have discovered that we can choose to watch all of the commercials before watching...

The new TV season has started, but I am busy at the computer and don't have a recorder. The solution is to watch the shows on the Internet whenever I want. Many channels offer this, but the full episode player at abc.com is the one I watch the most. It is easy to get. If you have to add anything, they tell you in plain English, not computer speak, and the process is quick and painless. The shows have good photos and descriptions. There are short commercial breaks, but they're not as long as television breaks, and I use the time to look around the room and give my eyeballs a break.

The pro's of having thing player is that when you don't have a chance to view it all on tv, you can come here and watch it. It's like tivo but without the pricey amount. It also kind of saves the history of what you watched already. The cons of it is, the commercials, the lag at times. Sometimes it malfunctions and you have to restart it. Which is very bothersome.

Not sure how new this player from move networks is but I've tried it on a few computers with the same result, bad.  It takes 3 or 4 times to get a movie to even play.  Quality was great... if you can get the video to load.

Another interesting bug was that the commercial breaks would happen, but no commercial would play, just dead air.

Fix the kinks and this could be a decent player...

Until then I'll go back to hulu and grab LOST episodes with a torrent.

I watch a great deal of television online, and I enjoy using ABC's player, though it isn't as streamlined and practical as NBC's, which I think is the best.  They have a wide variety of shows available to watch, usually with a handful of previous episodes, not just the last one.  It's easy to use, though I have had occasional technical problems with it.  It is frustrating, though, when they make a show disappear, such as when they cancelled Miss Guided and all of the episodes were gone from the website.  It's a great way to keep up with your favorite ABC shows.

Sorry to write a negative review, but it has been frustrating to be an American living overseas and not be able to utilize the website because it is limited to viewing in the US.  I realize that there may be legal reasons for this, but since I do not know the whole situation, I feel justified in writing this review and asking if there is any way to make the shows available in a way that is not piracy to those of us who are living in other countries.  Until then, I'll have to settle for piracy!

I love that you can watch the episodes on line if you had missed it.  I enjoy this feature because I am busy with work and my kids, but always find the chance to watch my shows online.  They also have several episodes to watch.  I find that this is helpful.

Being a mother of two makes TV time a challenge. I always end up losing the battle and have endless hours of children's programming on in the evenings. There is only a short amount of time that I have once the kids are in bed and before I have to turn in that I get to watch what I want. Usually by that time it would be programs that are Tivo'd. Well since I work at home on the computer every day, the abc viewer is my best friend. I already watched a good amount of the shows on there. I really like that ABC offers this option as a way to "keep up" with its programming.  I often work evenings and do not have Tivo or DVR, so I love that I can still watch my favorite shows online for no fee.  The advertisements are very minimal and are worth the wait. (It still takes less time than actually watching the show on TV.)  Nearly all of their shows are online, unlike many of their competitors who only offer the longer-running or less-popular shows online.  The resolution is good and the streaming delay is little to none.  The fullscreen option is truly the full screen, thus making... review »

I watch TV shows all day on this site sometimes! I put it on in a little screen while I am working. It is also very easy to close if say a manager comes by =). It is fun and I can catch up on an entire season in one day. I think they should put more shows up but I bet that will happen soon. I wish they would put the daytime soaps like general hospital because I am not able to watch it everyday and often would like to see it.  It would be great if all of the networks did this. This is great. I'm following a couple shows that are on at conflicting times.  Now I  never have to wonder what happened on a  show I missed since it's available 24-hours after it airs on TV.  don't have TIVO, so I use this to watch shows I have missed or re-watch episodes that I really enjoyed. It's very user-friendly. so the only complaint that I can think of is having to click back to the program after every commercial.  Luckily, there are limited interruptions, so that's not too much of a bother!
