AAA —

BEWARE OF TRIPLE A'S NEGLIGENCT SERVICE LEAVING ELDERLY FEMALE MOTORIST STRANDED OUTSIDE HER VEHICLE FOR HOURS, ALONE, COLD IN A DARK PARK, BEING BITTEN BY MOSQUITOS, AND AAA NEVER SENDING HELP UNTIL 6 HOURS LATER AND NOT BEING UP FRONT WITH MOTORIST ABOUT THEIR INABILITY TO CONTACT ANY ROADSIDE SERVICE FOR HOURS AND YET LYING ABOUT IT AND TELLING ME EVERY TIME I CALLED THAT SOMEONE WOULD BE THERE SHORTLY. HOW CAN THEY EVER BE TRUSTED IN THE FUTURE?

Beware of Triple A's Poor and negligent lack of roadside service. I would readily agree with the last respondent that Triple A's is no longer the Gold Standard and no longer looks out for the best interest of their customers in time of need. I recently had a nightmare experience that could have been avoided if the Triple A representatives would have been up front with me and told me that their server had been down and would be down for hours. Instead, was fed a stream of lies for hours: "Just give them a little more time and they will be there to help you". I was stranded in the parking lot of a public park with my keys locked in the car and it soon became dark and I was cold as the temps had dropped after the sunset and was most uncomfortable standing for hours and being bitten by bugs with large welts all over my back, legs and arms. This went on for over 3 hours with promises that someone was coming but they couldn't tell me who. Then at 9:45 pm I was told that their server was down and they couldn't contact anyone for another 2 and 1/2 hours. Finally over 6 hours later they responded at nearly 1 a.m. in the morning... I was told around 9:30pm (3 hours after I had first contacted them for help, that their server was down and it would be 2 and 1/2 hours more hours before they could contact anyone to help me. Today I learned AAA's server had been down since earlier in the afternoon that day (hours before I first called them) until after midnight (Sunday, Sept 20th, 2009).. If someone had been honest and upfront with me early on, I would have made other arrangements, but every time I called I kept being led along and lied to that "they should be there soon, it will just be a little longer".

I had gone to the park (approx 5 miles from my home) to take my large Standard Poodle for a walk and would have started trying to walk home in the daylight had someone been upfront and honest about their server being down when I first called at 6:30 pm. Perhaps might have found a cab that was willing to also transport a dog (not sure if they can legally do that), or would have called a locksmith or something! I did not feel comfortable contacting a neighbor, friend, nor relative, as they all have nice cars with leather seats and did not want to risk my dog scratching their beautiful leather seats.

I just joined 4 months ago as "Plus Member" thinking I would have good coverage ($89.00) and this was my 1st experience to call for assistance from Triple A. I want my membership canceled but that has been denied.. The nightmare still has me upset what I experienced that night alone in the dark park, with my life put at risk by AAA's negligence. A number of calls to Triple A representatives, I told them I was scared in the dark alone in the park, stranded outside my car, and was told they would contact the local police to come until help arrived, but they obviously never did that either, as no one ever came. I asked what local company they had contacted and they would not tell me only that it was a company in the vicinity of the area I was stranded. Learning now that the server was down since Sunday afternoon, and that someone would be showing up shortly, was obviously multiple lies. I would never use nor trust AAA again. I had USAA's Auto Roadside Assistance and always felt well served and supported if I ever had a need to call for help.

I was given a number to contact AAA Customer Service and was told someone would call within 72 hours to hear my concerns and it will soon be 72 hours and I have yet to receive a call back from AAA's Customer Service.

BUYER BEWARE OF TRIPLE A'S NEGLIGENCT SERVICE LEAVING MOTORIST STRANDED OUTSIDE THEIR VEHICLE FOR HOURS, ALONE, COLD IN A DARK PARK, NEVER SENDING HELP UNTIL 6 HOURS LATER AND NOT BEING UP FRONT WITH MOTORIST ABOUT THEIR INABILITY TO CONTACT ANY ROADSIDE SERVICE FOR HOURS AND YET LYING ABOUT IT AND TELLING ME EVERY TIME I CALLED THAT SOMEONE WOULD BE THERE SHORTLY. HOW CAN THEY EVER BE TRUSTED IN THE FUTURE?

I WOULD CERTAINLY BE HESITANT TO EVER CALL AAA FOR HELP AGAIN, AS IT IS NOT THERE, AND YOU CAN JUST BE LIED TO AND LED ALONG FOR HOURS PUTTING YOUR SAFETY AND WELL-BEING IN JEOPARDY.
