My family has been protected with AAA insurance for over 12 years. You can't compare their rates and services with any other company. I have looked at other insurance comparisons and they can't even touch AAA so they don't put them on with the other companies that they compare their rates with. I usually pay my insurance in full when due, but they have other plans and financing and their rates are yearly not every six months like most companies. We filed a claim for a fender bender my husband was in and they sent us to their repair shop and had a new fender replaced within a few days. I have found their roadside service to be excellent and have never had to wait more than 30 minutes. Of course in LA county during rush hour times you should expect to have to wait because of all the accidents on the local freeways, but they do their best to be their for you. The first thing they ask when you call is "Are you in a safe location?" I really appreciate that kind of caring.

I needed them at 11pm one night. I called I was told 1 hour for a tow. One Hour later no tow truck. Called back I was told 45 minutes. 45 minutes later no tow truck. I have written them multiple complaints and have gotten no response. So I decided not to renew my membership it is a waste. I had them for over 6 years and the one time I needed them I never got a tow. The best part is that I was in my own county which means I had priority...I wonder how they treat people from outside of their own county.

I would not buy this product

By

from Huntsville, AL

Comments about AAA-Auto Club:

AAA Autoclub insurance sucks. Took them 2 weeks after a wreck with their insured to acknowledge me. Had to end up going with my insurance to pay for my car after their insured totaled it. Bad customer service. Claim adjuster, Lauren Thomas, won't answer her phone.

The Worst and Rude too

By

from Toms River NJ

Comments about AAA-Auto Club:

My 87 year old mother is a member. Her car broke down this Saturday. They told her 45 minutes. After 4 calls and 2 hours later someone arrived. When I explained they were leaving my Mom out in the heat, they responded she should have walked down the road to the store and waited there for the 2 hours. They basically told me they didn't have enough trucks to cover the area. A real disappointment.

Worst service ever!! AAA are liars!!!

By

from Nashville, TN

Comments about AAA-Auto Club:

AAA are horrible! They left me out in the hot sun for 3 hours today waiting to be picked up after I called them because my car broke down. I kept calling them to find out how far away the driver was and the operator kept lying to me and saying that the driver was 10 minutes away. Do yourself a favor and save your money and not join this club!!!

I would recommend this to everyone

By

from Thornton,Pa

Comments about AAA-Auto Club:

I just recently signed up for AAA and this is the first time I had to use it.. The customer service rep that took my call was very professional, she told me they were busy and it would take aprox 45 minutes,( the tow truck arrived in 40).. I was even able to track where the tow truck was and could track it all the way to the garage.. and the guy from Ken's towing that came to tow the car was professional, nice and took car of the truck with care, I am so satisfied that I sign up everyone should you never know when you will need it. Thank you AAA for a GREAT first experience..

Worst customer service & supervisor

By

from North Dakota

Comments about AAA-Auto Club:

I have been a member since 2005. I have not used the service very often but used it February 2015. I filed a complaint about their customer service and did not hear back.Today I received a bill to renew. I call the customer service and was bounced to a couple different people. My issue was I had locked my keys in my car and needed a locksmith. I was told would be 25 min. I did not have 25 min and called another locksmith through MCA. They arrived in 7 minutes.
I spoke to Cassie, a supervisor and,was told 25 is good and usual wait time is 45 min. She stated had 800 calls so I guess my call was not important. I then asked to speak to manager whose name is Cindy and was hung up on.

AAA is not what it used to be. Shame on AAA for not providing the customer service their customers deserve.

Don't expect AAA to offer Travel Planning assistance.

By

from Snohomish County Washington

Comments about AAA-Auto Club:

I was recently planning a vacation to Mexico and wanted to get suggestions for activities, lodging, auto rentals and whatever else a travel consultant could offer. I visited my nearest AAA Travel Office (40 miles one way) on a Saturday morning and to my amazement found that the office is closed on weekends. I know, I should have checked before making the trip but I assumed that a Travel Agency would be available on weekends. My error. On the following Tuesday (the office was closed on Monday for Presidents' Day) I made the trip for the second time. The office was very impressive. A large area with three employees behind computers and a front desk and a large area with a diverse array of travel merchandise.
I was asked how I could be helped and said I was planning a trip to the Cancun area and wanted to get as much information as possible about the area. I was told that they did have a free map of the country of Mexico. I told them (the other two employees were within easy hearing distance and I was the only non-employee in the office) that I was a AAA member and wanted to know what they would suggest for activities, lodging and transportation. One of the other employees repeated that there was a free map available and that there were other items that might help that were for sale. I again stated that I was a AAA member and that in the past I had received vacation planning help. I was told that they only provided travel assistance in the United States but they had a free map for Mexico and Canada.
I am not a happy member.

AAA New York Rapid Service Decline

By

from New York Downstate

Comments about AAA-Auto Club:

Most people write about how long Road side service take and that is basically true- It does seem to take hours now, even in populated areas of NYC and Long Island- however the customer service culture of AAA NY has decline so rapidly that I feel compelled write about the Poor service and lack of empathy of the people throughout the entire organization in NY including supervisors in enrollment renewal.

For example they changed the membership number of NYers in October and they simply refuse to send out new ID cards. They suggest carrying little pieces of paper in your wallet or pocket with your new ID number. They are fully awar of the compuyter systems inabilty to process emergency road side requests with your old Membership number and how long it now takes to verify NYERS membership under the old ID number - but they simply don't care-giving stupid lip service instead of customer service. You can of course pay to have new cards sent to you because of the Membership number they changed and the problems they caused - but that would be asking way too much from their non customer service feeble minds. They think they can outsmart you rather than provide a response to your simple request because the new culture at AAA NY is says what you have to say because the customer is just a customer. They will not succeed in NY for much longer as all the long time customers are leaving in droves- and they deserve the layoffs that are coming.

First Issue in almost 20 Years

By

from South Carolina

Comments about AAA-Auto Club:

As a member for almost 20 years, I've recently encountered my first issue with AAA. I was traveling alone and heading home. The ground was so saturated that the car fell on top of the jack. So I called AAA to change a tire. I was on a highway out in the middle of no where. The first AAA personnel I spoke with told me that he wouldn't be able to send help because I didn't give him an exact address. I did specifically tell him no more than 5 miles north of said hwy heading north. With this information, he said he couldn't help. I had to hang up and hopefully speak with someone who would be more experienced. NOPE! The next representative asked me if I was near a certain street and still persisted that I must be near some road. She said she'd relay my message of help to a wrecker. Hours later, I get a phone call from a wrecker whose service area is at least an hour north of me. Because I was certainly out of their area, they wouldn't be able to help me. My husband came to my rescue. We drove his vehicle 4 miles south to the nearest gas station. I called AAA back and gave them the address. I was told that I had another two hours to wait before they could get someone there to help me.
To make a long story short, I sat on a deserted highway for 4 hours before a wrecker came to help me. The wrecker didn't arrive until after 10p.m. AAA failed to tell him that my jack was under my car, and so he didn't bring the right tools to do the job.

Normally, the wrecker calls before showing up and AAA makes several points of contact including one afterwards to make sure you were taken care of. NEITHER of these took place!!! AAA normally takes good care of us. In years past, we have had a wrecker come out in about an hour. However, four hours on a highway is beyond reasonable. AAA let us down. Because of this, I'm currently discussing with my family other available options.

towing

By

from Spokane Wa.

Comments about AAA-Auto Club:

needed a tow to my mechanic, called at 7:00 a.m., was informed they could not get to me untill after 10:00, because of wintry conditions they were only addressing only if you were out on the highway or road somewhere. Then I was to call them back, and then maybe they could get to me. this is my work car and the sooner I could get my car to my mechanic to make the repairs expediously and get me back on the road. Car needed to be towed less than a mile
