A New Earth - Awakening to Your Life's Purpose —
As a big fan of getting in touch with my inner self, I was swept up in the Oprah buzz on this book and couldn't wait to get it. Decided to buy the audio version so I could listen to it on my Ipod whenever I had a spare moment. I have to say that the author should not have narrated this audio book himself, his heavily accented voice is monotonous and boring, and the book's contents are presented in a very guilt-inducing way. Instead of feeling uplifted and enlightened, after every chapter I felt inadequate and even depressed. I got through about half of the 5-disc set and gave up, and have felt much better ever since! There are many out there who will claim I was "just not ready" to receive this "profound message," but I I did not find the subject matter to be very inspiring at all. Maybe the print version is better, but I will pass on that one as well.
