I think that most people like to see bad guys get what's coming. That's usually what you get when you buy true crime. Evil is tracked down. Monstors are put away. We can all sleep well at night.

"A Deadly Affair" is NOT that kind of true crime book. In fact, it's rather the opposite.

Michael Fletcher took the fall for the death of his wife, Leann. He's serving life. But, it's quite impossible to read the book from start to finish and think justice was served. If ever there has been "reasonable doubt," this case certainly is filled with that.

A gun did go off. Leann ended up dead. Michael was there....

THis book told the story of a man who seemed to have no scruples but I ended up believing he loved both women and did not have the sanity to find a way out of the problem he created.    He went for the passion and ended up destroying more lives than just the death of his wife.  His child will grow up with no mother, a father in prison for killing the mother.  problably only one set of grandparents.   The judge he had the affair with was a weak willed woman who fell for his stories.  Her career was destroyed. and his wife who seemed to be happily married   Killed in her happiest state. ... review »
