A-D Original Diaper Rash Ointment —

I am the parent of a very active two year old. My toddler is always running, jumping, bending, stooping, crawling, digging, and walking. He has neither the desire or attention span to be potty trained nor when he is playing does he indicate to me he wants his diaper changed. I must always perform checks. He used to tell me he was wet, etc. Now he just gets lost in playing. As such, especially in the summer, he is very prone to diaper rash. I have been told by my toddler's pediatrician that vaseline works just as well, or better, than creams or other ointments, but I have found this to not always be the case. I usually use generic diaper rash creams I buy at the dollar store or other stores. However, I had a store coupon and manufacturer coupon for A-D Orginal Diaper Rash Ointment. I decided to buy it. I would not have ourchased it had it not been for the coupons because it is very expensive in my opinion. My son had a moderate diaper rash on one side of his backside and leg so I used the ointment for three days in a row and the rash only minimally decreased. However, when I began to use the generic cream again (with different active ingredients) the rash began to dissapear completely. I feel as though the A-D cream may be soothing for the irritated skin, but it does not help the rash to dissappear. In my estimation it is not a superior product for diaper rash and is not worth the price. I will stick with much cheaper off-brand creams and save my money while helping my child. More expensive does not always mean better.
