This story is so much fun! Each page has something unexpected and silly. It is about a little girl who is afraid to admit that she likes Lima beans. she is so busy trying to impress her new classmates that she comes down with a case of the stripes. All of the gurus and doctors and homeopathic know hows visit her to try and treat her condition and in the end she really just need to be herself. This is a great story to get a child thinking about how to be themselves and to be proud of it.

As a teacher I preview many books each month.  My favoriest are those that teach an underlying life lesson.  In this book, the main character learns to accept herself for who she is.  Unexpectetd envents keep the reader highly engaged.  The illustrations are vivid and memorable.

This is a classic. Camilla is getting ready for her first day of school and she realizes that she has stripes on her face (she looks like a rainbow). Although she doesnt know it, Camilla's stripes are caused by her avoidance of lima beans... her favorite food.

What? The little girl is avoiding her favorite food?
Yes. Camilla doesnt want to eat lima beans because she is worried about what other kids think of her-- even though lima beans are her favorite. Because she avoids lima beans, all kinds of crazy things happen to her-- she gets stripes, she turns into a pill, she becomes "one with her...

A Bad Case Of Stripes is one I always start the school year off with.  I want my kids to feel safe and loved in my classroom, I am able to do this using this book.  The moral of the story is to be yourself.  Read  A Bad Case Of Stripes and enjoy!

This is a darling book. My 2 year-old loves it & so do I. The illustrations are great, and it has a good moral as well. Fun book!

Children love the zanny story and the funny illustrations. This is a great read-out-loud book. It is always checked out in our library and many children recheck the book.

A Bad Case of Stripes is a children's picture book that was creative in it's illustrations and in it's approach at showing the problem and solution.  It is fun to read, but the lesson learned was more entertaining than lasting and meaningful for my twin 9 year old grandaugthers.

A Bad Case of Stripes is a classic children's book that encourages being true to your self. Definitely five star worthy! THis book gives children a fast read that shows them how not to deal with the stresses and prressures of living in a society thats opulently materialistic. Just be true to yourself we all learn in the end, because if you cant be then its not worth it!
