During the present economy, I absolutely love investing in .999 silver bullion..........either in rounds, bars or loafs. I think that silver (and gold for that matter) is a stable investment that depending on what will happen or does not happen with our economy, it will have a long lasting value.

Rumors have been floating around for awhile that if the US dollar fails, then gold and silver will be the only tangible items to be able to barter with. If you acquire a little of either, you will not break the bank and you may also have more bargaining power should something of this extreme magnitude happen.

If you are unfamiliar to silver bullion......... they come in various weights, shapes and designs from various mints around the world.  The most popular shapes are the bars and the rounds. The most popular weight is the 1 ounce.

They also make great gifts because of the various designs and year of mint printed on some of them (examples: Father's Day, Harley-Davidson, Zodiac, etc.) and will be treasured for years. They can also be passed down from generation to generation.

Every now and then, I get mine out and look them over. They are like a little group of treasures that I can touch.  Maybe it's because they feel nothing like paper money and they have some weight to them. Friends and relatives are usually envious after seeing my silver collection and then soon begin collecting pieces for either themselves or children as a keepsake memento.

No one knows what the future holds for silver bullion, but it will forever be worth the enjoyment and pleasure it gives to the person holding one in their hands.

That reminds me of something similar a jewelry/watch doctor told us around Christmas about the cost of silver. Thanks for the good info. I think I'd still rather wear it though! : )

If you have the time and the patience, you can get some good deals on Ebay. As of today, if you can get 1 ounce of silver for $15.00 you are getting a great deal. Depending on the designs on the 1 ounce rounds and bars, they usually sell for $16 to 26 an ounce. But, .999 silver is still silver no matter what the design is. I buy based on the silver......I don't care what design is on it. Especially in todays time, gold and silver are the best investments (the experts say). I can not afford to buy gold because of the price, so I get a few silver ounces if I can get them for $15.00 or under an ounce (which is not often). But it is fun to try and steal them for that price on Ebay. If you can find a retail shop that has silver bars, rounds, or bullion you will be surprised at what they want for them. Your best chance to get them at a decent price is on Ebay. Thanks for reading my review.

Interesting review. Right now the only silver we've invested anything in is silver jewelry. : )
