There are badges for numbers of games completed, consecutive days played, participation in community events and many others. The site creators are always updating the badges to make them even better as well as adding new ones on a regular basis.
Another unique feature of 360 Voice is the challenge system. Gamers have the opportunity to sign up to compete against others in contests of varying lengths. The winner of these challenges are determined by who has the largest increase in gamerscore over the set period of time. Gamerscore is earned by accomplishing certain tasks in games and is specific to the Xbox 360. It is also the central theme of almost all 360 themed websites. The prize for winning these gamerscore challenges is usually just the right to brag to your friends, but recently Old Spice sponsored a series of challenges in which prizes were given away. The challenge system is one of the driving forces that keeps this site going strong with over one million page hits every month.
The site also has the customary forums where people can go to meet and greet. However, 360 Voice takes communication a step farther. You have the ability to leave comments on others blogs as well as your own, in essence creating a blog to go along with your 360's daily ramblings. There is also a feature called "microblogging", that allows you to post a unique comment while playing your 360, further opening up the communication aspects of the site.
If I had to pick the number one thing that keeps this site thriving and growing it would be the community. Everyone I have encountered there has gone out of their way to be friendly and helpful. When you ask a question in the forums, you don't get an answer, you get ten. You also won't find the typical foul language and crude talk you see on other gaming sites. That's because 360 Voice strives to be a haven for gamers of all ages. You would be hard pressed to find a better gaming community anywhere else on the web.
