Earlier this evening I was decompressing in front of the bedroom TV when Tivo decided to change the channel to record 30-Minute Meals with Rachael Ray.  Excellent!  What better way to decompress?  Is it obvious I have a thing for this woman?  Well it's okay, I have a note from my  wife.

30-Minute...

Maybe it's just me, but I seem to be in the minority about my feelings towars Rachael Ray.  Even though she's the new "It Girl" (and is even loved and revered by Oprah Winfrey herself!), I just can't get past her goofy laugh and her hand waving, raspy voiced, droning monologues about her "wonderful"...

Anyone that has ever seen this talented young lady knows she can do amazing things in the kitchen. She is the Hostess of 30 Minute Meals but also appears on other food programs as well. She makes some fantastic meals in 30 minutes and takes the time to explain everything she does.

Some of her exploits

On 30 Minute Meals she fixes everything from Breakfast to Dinner as well as party snacks, dips and soups. She has also done many vegetarian meals including a vegetarian chili that even I would eat and I love meat! A lot of her meals include noodles of every kind since it doesn't take long for them...

Working full time and cooking out of necessity, it is often difficult to create new and exciting meals that not only are easy and quick to prepare, but also tasty and can fit into my budget.  After watching Rachel Ray's 30 minute meals for the first time, I thought, wow, this can be done with a little organization and planning.  I was just so glad to see someone who cooks like me.  She doesn't make the hoity- toity fancy foods that won't fill you up. She doesn't even really measure.  She cooks regular things like you and I and she does it in under thirty minutes.

 Not only does Rachel...

Maybe it's an age thing, but I can't stand listening to Rachel. Sometimes when the recipe sounds interesting, I'll watch with the volume off & then get the recipe off the website. oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I'm a novice cook, but I like to think that I've gotten better over the past few years as I've cooked dinners for friends, family, and my husband.  I don't really watch a lot of TV, but lately I've found myself watching a couple of hours of the Food Network Channel each night.  One of my favorite shows to watch is Thirty Minute Meals with Rachael Ray.

As the name implies, this is a 30 minute show that follows Rachael Ray as she cooks a "healthy and delicious meal from start to finish".  I've seen her make steaks, pork chops, pasta, fish, and huge salads, almost all of which have looked good...

Too much cheese, too much salt, too much olive oil/butter combination, too much unhealthy combinations to make a well balanced and "healthful" meal possible.

It seems not matter what she makes it always looks like bodily fluids from my pets.

I used to like her alot. But, nothing ever seemed to look tasty.

She doesn't even bother to taste anything before deeming it "yum-o". When other people cook on t.v they taste what they are preparing, albeit not uncooked meats/fish. Giada de Laurentis always tastes her dishes. She always takes a good forkful or spoonful and enjoys what she's eating. Ray at the...

When I first started watching Rachael Ray, it was interesting to see this woman with all of these innovative hints and tricks for cooking "delicious and healthy meals." But after watching her for a while, you'll realized it's the same thing over and over and over. She'll pull armloads of food from the refridgerator, then giggle how her mother tells her it's better to make multilple trips. She always "burns the bread and doesn't bake." Did you notice that cumin always "leaves a smoky flavor in the background." A healthy meal never starts with frying pancetta or bacon, not sure how Rachael can...

Seriously?....O.k. I've just read some of these reviews and it's interesting that they only come from the men! Hmmmmmmm!! I wonder why. For those who have no taste in fine food and great cuisine, then ,yes Rachael Ray is for you. Now for those who know what good food is all about would highly agree with me that her show and cuisine(and I take that word lightly) is in dyre needs of some creativity, imagination, presentation and most of all......flavor!!!!!!  Now,I will give it to her,30 minute meals are very convenient and I myself don't really like to spend hours in the kitchen cooking...

First of all I can't stand that she is everywhere! Second of all why is she always trying to be so "cute" and say "cute" things... It is impossible for someone to be so upbeat all the time... She says things like "watched pots never boil" That is just silly. Have you ever noticed that she talks out of the right side of her mouth like she is talking out of her ear? That's just funny! I wish they just made the show like a silent film with cooking instructions accross the bottom. I  wouldn't mind watching her prepare some of the food she makes  and the concept of making a meal in 30 minutes is ideal... read full review »

I love this show.  Rachel is wondeful and witty.  The meals she makes are delicious.  Granted she does use some ingredients that are out of my price range, but they can be substituted pretty easily.  She tells stories as she cooks about her husband and her family.  I really feel like you can get to know her better if you watch regulary.  I dont feel like she is trying to be all fancy and overwhelm with unneeded cooking terminology.  She cooks for the untrained cook.

She makes it very simple, and very simple to understand cooking a good homecooked meal in 30 mintues or less. I don't know where she comes up with her ideas but I am always like "wow". She has the most awesome recipes to be so easy. So now everyone can cook a nice meal without slaving over a stove for hours. I watch the show almost every night because it's right when I get home from work, and I'm going through my mail, etc...

I enjoy some of her recipes , she seems to make them so easy, I go to the food network site and click on review before I try them to see what others have to say about the recipe and if they try some different or add something ..

But dont like her voice either, and saying EVO all the time is getting old.. But she does make her recipe seems easy.

Rachael Ray is my kitchen hero! I began watching 30 minute meals in 2001, and became addicted immediately! I love to cook, but never have the time. But since watching Rachael I've been able to make meals in just minutes and enjoy them. My family loves her recipes! She is fun to watch and very informative....Thanks Rachael for all you do!! Keep up the great work!

I am a big fan of the Food Network, not only because I love learning new recipes, but I love their hosts.  Rachael Ray not only delivers quick and easy dishes in this 30 minute program, but she is also fun to watch.  She is so perky and upbeat and it is almost like watching your best friend in the kitchen.  The meals are easy to make and cook up fast, because she only has 30 minutes to put a delicious meal on the table.  Often times the shows are composed of a main dish and easy side like her tasty stoups or salads, and followed by a quick and easy dessert.  I especially like her easy peanut... read full review »
