I'm a novice cook, but I like to think that I've gotten better over the past few years as I've cooked dinners for friends, family, and my husband. I don't really watch a lot of TV, but lately I've found myself watching a couple of hours of the Food Network Channel each night. One of my favorite shows to watch is Thirty Minute Meals with Rachael Ray.
As the name implies, this is a 30 minute show that follows Rachael Ray as she cooks a "healthy and delicious meal from start to finish". I've seen her make steaks, pork chops, pasta, fish, and huge salads, almost all of which have looked good enough to get me thinking about making them. One thing I really like about watching Thirty Minute Meals is the fact that you see Rachael Ray actually do everything, including pulling ingredients out of the fridge, chopping them up, cooking them, etc. There are no bowls filled with pre-chopped and pre-measured ingredients, nor does she whip a finished dish out of the oven at the same time that she puts in the "raw" one that she just prepared. You really get the feeling that you too can create a yummy meal in less than an hour.
If you are looking for unpretentious and delicious meals, check out Thirty Minute Meals with Rachael Ray on the Food Network Channel. I am addicted to watching the show... and trying out many of the recipes that she demonstrates each week.
