30-Minute Meals with Rachael Ray —

Earlier this evening I was decompressing in front of the bedroom TV when Tivo decided to change the channel to record 30-Minute Meals with Rachael Ray.  Excellent!  What better way to decompress?  Is it obvious I have a thing for this woman?  Well it's okay, I have a note from my  wife.

30-Minute Meals with Rachael Ray

Unless you've been unconscious for the last few years, you know this lady is on fire, and at the core of her success is her ability to take 30 minutes, add some ingredients and produce an entire meal from start to finish.

If you've used her cookbooks as I have, you may have found that the absence of photos was a weakness.  Also, when you try to minimize preparation time some of the short-cuts may seem counter-intuitive.

By watching the show you not only see what the end-product should look like but you get a better idea of how the preparation should proceed in order to get it done in 30 minutes.  The trick of course is getting everything done on-time so that everyone gets to sit down and eat at the same time.  Rachael is just the one to show you get it done.  She's a genius of "kitchen acrobatics".

My Viewpoint

If you like her cookbooks you'll love this show.  If you like the idea of her cookbooks but have had trouble using them, watching a few episodes of her show will help you make sense of them.

If nothing else, (and trust me there is), 30-Minute Meals with Rachael Ray is entertaining. Her easy, often self-deprecating manner helps de-mystify the whole process of creating interesting meals in a minimum of time.  For the time-deprived this show is a treasure.

Enjoy,

 Rudi

I never watch food shows because I cook so little but I happened to be walking by her on a tv in my friend's house. She was making something so simple that looked so elegant I made it when we had two hard-to-please couples over - what a hit! I rolled goat cheese into small balls, rolled them in crushed hazelnuts and put them on fancy lettuce - it's a RR recipe:) Jo

Great review. I totally agree with you. A lot of people are down on her for her down home style, but I'm a serious cook and I love it: she takes the mystery out of the kitchen and makes it clear that anyone can put together a nice meal...often with things they already have on hand. Plus, like NIgella, she actually LIKES food, which makes a difference.

I really like her too - but I have a question for you - just why do we only see her breast in the one picture? LOL I know it's a thumbnail, but found it humorously centered!

I love Rachael Ray. She's such a great cook, full of personality and really fun to watch. She also owns a Staffy.
