The old adage ‘Always the bridesmaid, never the bride' is taken to the extreme by Jane Nicholas (Katherine Heigl). Drawing the attention of newspaper reporter Kevin Doyle (James Marsden) while she was Maid of Honor at two different weddings in one night, he decided to write a story about how dedicated...

I have to make sure our Netflix queue contains the right percentage of romantic comedies or my wife will give me an earful. Therefore, 27 Dresses recently slipped through the mail slot in the front door. Starring Katherine Heigl (Grey's Anatomy) as a perennial bridesmaid and admitted wedding junkie,...

I had wanted to see 27 Dresses but it never seemed like a theater-flick for me since there were no special effects or anything like that.  So when my mom caught it on a movie channel, I thought it was the perfect time to watch!  27 Dresses was cute, but it wasn't quite what I expected.

The Story: Jane has loved weddings ever since she was a little girl.  She's a great friend too, so great that at the start of the movie we see her rushing back and forth between 2 weddings of 2 good friends who asked her to be a bridesmaid.  She rents a cab for the night to take her between the two, and changes...

When I initially saw the trailer for 27 Dresses, starring Katherine Heigl and James Marsden, I had a good idea what the storyline would be.  Quite honestly, if you've seen the trailer, you don't even need to watch the movie.  That's just how predictable it is

In fact, allow me to describe the top ten cliches that are featured in this movie.  (There are undoubtedly more than ten, but I gave up counting when I reached that number).  I suppose I should warn you with a spoiler alert, but truly, the film is so unoriginal, I can't imagine I could reveal any surprises or twists that would spoil the...

Katherine Heigl and Jeff Marsden star in 27 Dresses, a funny movie about weddings and the women who can't say no!

Plot:Jane loves weddings.  The only problem is she's never been married, she's just in them, (27 to be exact), and plans them, and manages them and saves them.  That would make any girl tired and want to elope.  She should be a paid professional wedding planner.  When Janes sister comes back to town and catches the eye of Janes boss (and secret crush), everything is turned upside down.

What I thought:  27 Dressesis a very comical movie.  Heigl's character is fall of your couch...

If you love the idea of "love," this cute, funny and syrupy sweet concoction is a real treat.

I have to admit I didn't expect a great deal from this movie, seeing as how the main theme is so similar to several recent "chick flick hits." However, this familiar formula was definitely enhanced by a strong cast, with Katherine Heigl delivering a command performance.

As with most light and lively films the title pretty much defines the movie, or at least sets the mood... The lovable, but somehow never "loved" Jane is the epitome of the old saying "always a bridesmaid, never a bride." The typical...

"Always a bridesmaid, never a bride" is the ongoing theme of this romantic comedy.  This is a great chick flick, but a little too predictable.  The movie stars Katherine Heigl as Jane who has been in so many weddings she can hardly count and is always there for her friends to help make their special day perfect.  Yet in heart, Jane dreams of the day she is the bride and her groom is her boss.  She does everything to catch the affection of her cute boss, but never has the guts to tell him.  These feelings are stirred up when her blonde, outgoing sister meets him and falls in love with him herself. ... read full review »

27 Dresses had a very familiar theme with "Always a bridesmaid, never a bride," and there was never a moment where you didn't know what was going to happen, yet it was still an enjoyable romantic comedy, making me question if Katherine Hegel is becoming the new Julia Roberts.

It's TV and movie It Girl Heigl starring as Jane, a part that is named not so coincidentally, as she is the "plain Jane," the girl that is never married, despite the fact that she's been dreaming of her wedding for years. Instead, she has become somewhat of a professional bridesmaid, often covering two weddings in one night,...

27 Dresses is a romantic comedy to cure winter blues and relationship woes. A friend and I went to see this movie at a time when i was not feeling up to it. I did not want to watch a wedding move, but she insisted it was supposed to be funny, so off we went.

I was so glad she did take me to see it. 27 Dresses is a cute, funny movie about relationships and how one girl was repeatedly a bridesmaid and obsessed with the perfect wedding, but never had the chance to make her own dream wedding a reality. Meanwhile, a handsome young reporter does a story on the girl with the 27 dresses and ends up falling...

I have been eagerly awaiting the release of this movie. I didn't have the chance to see it when it was in the movie theatre, but it is from the creators of 40 year old virgin, a movie that made me laugh harder than I ever have. Going into the movie I thought it was going to be a constant laugh, and it was...but there was romance and heartbreak all within that comedy. It's a story of a girl named Jane, who decides at the age of 8 years old that she wants to be involved in helping with weddings. The beginning of the movie shows an 8 year old Jane, helping her cousin with a wedding dress malfunction.... read full review »

I watched 27 dresses on its premier night.  No, I did not watch the preview and decide to run to the theatre early in expectation of an hour long line.  I was actually heading out to be with friends and as a mother of a seven month old infant, I had left to leave the house without baby or husband for any fun activity.  Back to the movie, it was a terribly predictable plot with a girl who loves a man who doesn't notice her but then falls in love with a beautiful, vain woman.  The main character is crushed, but find herself drawn to a cynical/slight bad boy while they argue incessantly. ...

We join Jane (Katherine Heigl), a simple girl who has been in love with weddings since she was a small child, as she is again being a bridesmaid (This time for 2 in the same night).  Kevin (James Marsden) notices her and tries to strike up a conversation.  The on screen chemistry between them is fantastic.  Jane, however, is secretly madly in love with her boss (Ed Burns).  When her kid sister Tess comes to visit, the boss falls hard and proposes.  What happens next is nothing short of comedy genius.  Jane has been a bridesmaid no less than 27 times.  Will the 28th be her last?  You simply... read full review »

This is a really cute movie.  It made me smile, laugh, and cry.  The plot was simple but just enough to keep you watching.  The characters were played well by the cast.  27 weddings??  Seems like a lot but I guess when you devote your life to making other people happy it is ok. Watch it!!

27 Dresses is by far my favorite romantic comedy! Katherine Heigel and James Marsden are both incredible actors and they make a great couple. Judy Greer is also in 27 Dresses. She plays the hilarious best friend to Katherine Heigl. Judy Greer is one of the best unknown actresses of our time. She is just as much a comedian as an actress and is wonderful. This movie has enough comic relief that even guys that are afraid of "chick flicks" will enjoy it as well. Katherine Heigl is "always a bridesmaid, never a bride". Only she has been a bridesmaid 27 times! She is hopelessly in love with her oblivious...
