24 Review Summary

Jack Bauer is here to save the day. Literally. In Fox television's action/adventure series "24", Counter Terrorism Unit operative Bauer employs any number of "outside the box" methods to defuse some acute crisis presently threatening the country. And he must do it in 24 hours, hence the show title. With non-stop action, hair-pin turns and more twists than a hundred pretzels "24" is "the fulfillment of the action lover's dream". This isn't mindless action, however. "While any action/drama fan is going to have a great time watching "24", brainiacs are going to thrill to the many issues the show brings up." Airing on Fox television on Tuesdays at 9pm, each episode of "24" happens in one hour of real time, typically ending the hour with a cliff-hanger to bring viewers back the next week. Having completed 6 seasons and counting, each season is self-contained with some small ties to previous seasons. Reviewers say the quality of each season has been pretty consistant, however, one said, "this season (6) has basically been a huge downer for me". Overall, reviewers say you can count on "24" for great acting, thrill-a-minute action and clever, well-thought out story lines.

Want to be shocked, inspired, surprised and wowed?
Fox Network's "24" will do all this and more.  Keifer Sutherland and Company will have you gripping your arm-rests in no time.  (I'd advise enjoying a cocktail before watching this thriller!)

As anyone can probably tell by my screen name I am a huge 24 fan, and therefore it hurts me to say that this season has basically been a huge downer for me. Anyone who has watched the show through all the previous seasons knows what I am talking about. Last season was such a great high point, even though... review »

24 is the fulfillment of the action lovers's dream.

The hero, Jack, is a defender of all we hold dear; not so much mom, the flag, and apple pie as beautiful women, men of honor, and dinner at Outback's.He is great with technology, guns, and martial arts. He knows who the bad guys and the good guys are, He's vulnerable.

Jack works with a team. Unlike so many lone-wolf heroes, Jack is dependent on others. This isa different and cool.

Jack and his team defend America from all threats. They will go to almost any length to protect the country they love.

The action scenes are quick and to the point. The...

The show "24" is an action packed show about Jack Bauer a CTU investigator who is solving some type of crisis each season.  Each show for the season takes place in real time for exactly 1 hour and that is where the show gets it's name as there is 24 hours in a day and there are 24 shows for each season.  This is season 7 that is on Monday nights at 8 p.m. central time on FOX.  I didn't start watching it on a regular basis until last summer when I had a chance to see the first six episodes and then I was hooked.  I'm currently watching the 7th season but I plan on going back and renting the...

I started watching this show at season 4 and after watching the first few episodes I was hooked. I immediately went out and bought the first season and borrowed season two and three. After watching all the seasons I could see why it is one of the most revered shows on television. The characters are developed well and the stories are inticately written. The decisions that Jack Bauer, the lead character, has to face in every season are usually devasting and have some lasting consequence. The sacrifices he makes and the way he gets the job done are what keep this show moving from episode to espisode,... review »

If you don't watch Fox's series "24" then you are missing the greatest show on TV.  My husband and I have been with Jack Bauer, the lead character, since the first season, and there have been more than 5 of them.  Fox's writers are brilliant as they continue to find a way to intrigue the viewer with another terroristic plot, or world security dilemma that Jack has to resolve.

The reason you will absolutely love it is that each episode is shot in real time - meaning that you are watching a 24 hour day in Jack's life in a series of 24 episodes.  Each episode is one hour of that day and the...

Waiting for the premiere of 24 after missing last season was like your favorite music group coming out with a new album and praying it dosen't disappoint. I'm sure I wasn't the only one holding my breath. All I can say is Freakin AAAAAAA!! I started yelling the minute it was clear Tony was alive. As Bill and Choloe's characters appeared I was cheering because at this point there was no doubt 24 was back with a vengeance. The story lines, characters and plots are always intense, complicated, intelligent and fast paced. To be honest I am not a violent crime drama fan so needless to say my friends... review »

I started watching 24 because Keifer Sutherland has always been a favorite of mine. He is so good looking and a very believable actor.

Once I got use to the way the story was told, I was hooked.  The first years were especially good, maybe because you really didn't know what to expect.  I tend to find myself sitting with clenched fists or holding my breath.

It seems like it just gets started and the hour is over.  The only thing I don't like is when they have to take breaks and they make me wait several weeks for the next episode.

I am glad they aren't starting the new season until they can show...

I hate to admit, I only recently discovered 24....for years I didn't watch it because I didn't think I was a big action fan.  Boy, was I wrong!!  You practically get a work out watching this show.  With so many shows that are so predictable, 24 is truely amazing.  You can never guess what's going to happen next, and you are on the edge of your seat the entire time.  Thank God they have all the seasons on DVD, so i was able to see all that I had missed.  Each and every episode is like a mini big budget blockbuster movie.  Keifer Sutherland must be getting up there in years, but you sure can't... review »

Ready for edge of your seat drama?  Well, 24 has it!  I was bored this summer so I decided to rent the season's of 24.  I watched Season 1 through Season 6 in a matter of weeks!  I couldn't stop watching!  I was addicted!  It kept me on my seat wondering what was going to happen every episode.  Keifer Sutherland is fantastic in this show and I just want to come back for more.

Sometimes I felt like it was dragging along but the next episode would always pull me back for more!

I did not watch this past season...Season 7.  The reviews I read were horrible!  Everyone I talked with said they...

Well, I'm still pretty pissed at FOX for keeping Season Seven under wraps until this coming January.  Frankly, I didnt see the reason why it couldn't be put on in the fall like all the others.

But, that being said... I've been a loyal and devoted watcher of this show since it's inception.  It's pure adrenaline!   A must watch.  Each season comes with something you never expect.  It defies what you would expect from a show.

If you've never seen, you can't just pick up at Season Seven... but get the DVD beginning with Season One.  It's great for Marathon Sessions where you'll never get bored....

I'm a lover of military movies and, although this is government-oriented, it has a military feel to it.  I didn't start watching until about the third season although I've gone back now and seen several of the original ones.  The thing I like is that you never know what's going to happen.  The writers take things happening currently in the media and then put a new spin on them so it has a feel of reality.  The characters are intriguing and the acting is great.  I've enjoyed the fact that each season is as good as the previous one - the writers aren't running out of ideas or replaying old ideas. ... review »

Since Season One came out, I look forward to seeing Jack Bauer and the plots he's involved in. This show just grabs hold of you from the start and takes you on a wild ride. It's like an emotional roller coaster...from feeling his pain and sorrow to feeling his accomplishments. Jack is a character whom you look up to and wish to be like. 24 is just so full of many twists that when each season comes to an end, you cannot wait for the next season to start. Fox really has a winner on it's hands and I look forward to watching the next season. What more can I say....Jack is all that.

I started to watch 24 in season 4.  I could not believe how great of a show it was.  I ended up buying all of the seasons on DVD so I could watch them all and get "caught up" on the history of the show.  I found myself getting very addicted to this show and I got the rest of my family addicted as well.  (Even my 4 year old)  This is one of the best shows on television right now and I don't see any other shows out there that even come close in comparison!  I don't know what I will do if the show ever goes off the air!

We do not get cable where we live, and I had heard so much about "24" that I ordered the first series from Netflix.  From the first episode we were hooked.  Our daughter kept pleading for "just one more episode, pleaseIt is such an absorbing show and Keifer Sutherland does such an excellent job, wish there really was such a person!  Now we have watched all six seasons and are impatient for season 7 to finally go on DVD.  In the meantime, what do we watch?
