To the Point

I wrote a review of the First Season of 24.

We bought the Season Two after getting hooked on this television show. Although I didn't stay up all hours of the night watching this season I thought it was great. We just got Season Three.

A Closer View

Season Two comes 7 discs in a nice package - great as a gift. 24 takes place over 24 hours in real time. Each episode is 60 minutes.

24 Season Two is as much of a thriller as Season One.

The Stars

Kiefer Sutherland plays the star, Jack Bauer, a former Federal agent for the Counter Terrorist Unit in Los Angeles. Bauer works and plays to the beat of his own drum. You should have seen Season One by now but if you haven't skip the next couple of sentences. We see Jack as an angry man in Season Two having a hard time getting through the death of his wife, Teri thus the time off from CTU. Their daughter Kim, played by Elisha Cuthbert (also a writer in this Season) is still a key player.

Xander Berkely plays George Mason in his character as the District Director of the Los Angeles division of the Counter Terrorist Unit. His acting is great and he always kept me on my toes which is the only way you can watch 24. All the actors are terrific in Season Two as they were in Season One. Penny Johnson Jerald, the ex-wife of President David Palmer, plays Sherri Palmer. Her role, like Kim's, is key in Season Two. She won't disappoint you.

There are many great actors in this Season - in fact I can't think of one I didn't like.

We meet Bauer when a terrorist threat is announced in Los Angeles in the form of a nuclear bomb being detonated Jack comes back in a big way. He has more lives than any cat I've met. My husband and I would say "Now how is he going to get out of this one?"

There is no rating on Season Two but there is quite a bit of violence. Season One was rated PG13 and I would certainly rate Season Two of 24 the same at a minimum.

The entire Season Two runs 1064 minutes - everyone of them I loved.

Jo's Viewpoint

It's great!

Thanks, Mike, it seems that there are a few of us addicts re: 24. I just looked and Season 7 won't start until 2009 which for me is good because it will give me a chance to get through all 6. We're 1/2 way through Season 3.

I have all the seasons of 24 on DVD and have seen them all. Worth every minute of it! Can't wait for season 7 to start. Great review!

In November of 2008, "24: Exile" a prequel to Day (Season) Seven, will be aired on Fox, no doubt during the Nielsen Sweeps. In January 2009, Day Seven will begin, with Jon Voight as the villain. I'm currently on Day Four, and Amazon just e-mailed me; they are shipping the Slim-Pack edition of Day Five. I've got quite a few 24 reviews to write!

I can't wait either. Do you happen to know when it starts. Guess I could go to the website and probably find out!

After each season became available on DVD I rented from Netflix. I'm not sure I could have waited a week to see what happens and having to sit through commercials while it was on TV. There were times I'd have to watch 2 or 3 episodes at a time, because I just couldn't stop watching. Interest for the show has waned somewhat. I read a story in a news magazine about 24. It was most popular soon after 9/11. With all the news stories about America's treatment of prisoners at Guantanamo Bay (sp?) and some of our other mistreatment in other areas of suspected terrorists, the methods Jack Bauer uses to get information are not as appealing to viewers as they were in the past after 9/11. I can't wait for the new season!

I would be lost without taping everything. This is really worth a watch!

I haven't seen it either, but hear wonderful things about the show. Seems like someone else always wants the tv when it's on. maybe I should just set it for recording all the time.

I always see previews for this show and never caught it yet (hubby thinks the remote is his lol), but it looks like a good one!
