I absolutely love my 2008 Nissan Altima. I had owned a 2003, 2.5 sedan with all the extras (no leather) before, but made an awful decision to trade it in to save a bit of money on monthly car payments. Ever since that decision I had been counting the days for my lease to be over so I could purchase another Altima. Finally in January of 2008 I was able to turn in my leased vehicle (Chrysler Pacifica, which I will not recommend for many reasons including the 15mpg fuel economy). I looked at all of my options again for a 4-door sedan. My first test drive was of course the 2008 Altima. It was... read full review »

After much reading and driving, I finally arrived at a decision regarding what car to buy.  The contenders were the Honda Accord, Chev Malibu, Toyota Camry, and the Mazda 6.  Rather than discuss the other vehicle attributes, I'll stick with the Nissan.

First off, the engine that I went for was the 2.5 litre 4 cyl (according to Car and Track, they got an all-around 25 MPG over 1000 miles of mixed driving - not bad for a car that can go 0-60 in 7.9 seconds and puts out 175 HP)  It has a CVT (continuous variable transmission) rather than traditional gears.  This means that the engine rpm and...

My wife and I were recently put in a position to were we had to go buy an automobile.  We looked at several lots trying to find a sedan that was completely loaded that didn't cost 40k.  We looked at the Chevrolet lot and the new Malibu was nice but to get it with leather and the works it was close to 31k.  Not wanting to pay that for an American car that would depreciate faster then a foreign car we turned to Nissan.  The Nissan Altima has the feel of a Luxury car with the push button start and the leather seating.  You can get this loaded for around 29k.  I recommend this car anyone... read full review »

I have been very happy with my Nissan Altima 2.5 SL. The interior is comfortable and spacious, and it drives really well. The car seems safe and reliable. It has some interesting funky features (e.g. no need to put in a key anywhere - one just presses a button to start the car). Only downsides so far: beige leather gets dirty quickly and some of the buttons are pretty confusing.
