I shopped inside the 1-800-Flowers store in Dearborn, Michigan, and was impressed by the selection, customer service, and the price.
For Mother's Day, I purchased a beautiful azalea plant for my mom. I had a $30 gift certificate that I used and there were plenty of pretty flowers and plants to choose from within that price range. In fact, there were so many nice things, I had a hard time choosing just the right gift.
The 1-800-Flowers store also had a great selection of other gifts, and I was especially impressed by the themed-sets. The baby-themed gifts were very cute and I didn't think that the prices were high compared to most floral shops.
The only item that I thought was kind of pricey was the $5 Happy Mother's Day balloon that I purchased to go along with the azalea plant. If I didn't have a gift certificate with a value to "use or lose," then I wouldn't have gotten it. There were some high quality chocolate bars that I could have chosen instead for less money, but my mom is trying to watch what she eats so I thought the balloon was a better choice.
I was mostly impressed with the customer service. The employees were very friendly and eager to help, while avoiding being overbearing. When my son let go of our $5 balloon, the woman helping us was very nice about replacing it.
I give a big thumbs-up to the 1-800-Flowers store and will definitely purchase from them again. It's a fun store to browse around and a great place to buy gifts.
