For my mother's birthday I thought it would be nice to send her flowers. She's on the east coast so during the winter there's winds, snow, and storms. Given that I live in a place that is often consistent to nice weather, sending her tulips would be something she couldn't get there as easily. The flowers arrived on time, and they were beautiful. I didn't think it was too much--money wise--that is, until friends and such had shown me comparative pricing for the exact bouquet I sent my mother. After shopping around, after the damage was done, I paid an average of 25% more than i would have if I had shopped locally. Maybe I wouldn't have been able to send her the exact same bouquet, but considering I compared to the flowers I sent her I was a little irritated that 1.800.flowers.com just wasn't as great a deal as I was initially led to believe by their advertising.
